    City Link tracking problems

    Invoice number: *edited *

    Well once again I've got a slight issue with City Link. Placed an order yesterday which as usual, Scan dispatched promptly. I've had a looking at the tracking page and it seems to have stopped on "In our network" on the City Link website. It is due to be delivered today. Just wondering if I'm likely to recieve it today as I don't know where it is in the system.

    Hi Chris P, I can see that the expected delivery date is for today but the tracking page for me is not showing that it is out for delivery. I assume that its just being a bit slow to update.

    It may go out in a second wave of deiveries. Not all the vans go out for the full day first thing in the morning.

    Same thing for me with my shipment. I tried to call citylink about it, but was rather put off by the substantial waiting times. It's conceivable it may go out on an evening delivery route, but I'd like to at least see 'arrived at delivery depot' show up before the end of the day...

    If you all stopped for a minute and took a look at the important news on City Links homepage you would see:

    Track Your Parcel
    Please note that our 'Track your Parcel' service may not be displaying the correct information as we may not have been able to scan your parcels to update our systems with the correct status of your delivery. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and please rest assured that we will do all that we can (weather permitting) to return our services to normal as soon as possible.

    Well, to be on the safe side I called them using the other phone, and they said that it hadn't arrived at the delivery depot and made no mention of that bulletin on the website. I was told, assuming it doesn't arrive today, to ask Scan to send a replacement tomorrow.

    We are not actively sending out replacements as all goods are reaching the destination, some are being delayed but all are getting there eventually.

    Well, only following what I was told :S
    Hopefully the tracking system has bugged and it will arrive this afternoon, a large proportion of citylink deliveries arrive 2-3pm here. If it doesn't arrive today, I will call citylink tomorrow (assuming the tracking page hasn't updated) and if they still say I'm to obtain a replacement, I will have to post back.

    Ahh, I must admit I didn't see the news on their home page, probably would of been better if they put it on the tracking page as I would imagine that's where most customers go straight to. Hopefully it will turn up today but if it doesn't, whilst annoying, its not the end of the world.

    If it's any consolation my Interlink delivery from another retailer is late (it's gone 3pm, which is their 'guaranteed by' date)

    Edit: Never mind, arrived just before half past. Close enough

    Interlink have carried a package 220 miles from snowy scotland on time, and Citylink have failed at the 80 miles from Scan. Maybe one day Scan will realise why they're just about the last UK PC retailer to still use them... It's a little tragic that the shop that offers pretty much the best range of stuff in the UK is held back by using one of the worst couriers.

    Still no sign of this parcel coming today. Have been trying to get through to CityLink customer service for the last 30mins but I gave up as I didn't seem to be getting anywhere.

    None here either. I got through earlier, but as I explained, they basically said that unless the website changes, it's a lost item and I need to have it replaced. Not the response I would have expected, as delays through the snow would almost be forgivable.

    Well I hope that's not the case as losing an Intel SSD is no laughing matter for me or Scan. Website hasn't updated yet so I'll have to see what tomorrow brings.

    I'm amused by the idea of losing a box so big it's barely small enough to carry unaided
    My hunch is that they never bothered sending it out of the depot local to Scan, the website just says they did to confirm its arrival at said depot.
