I have had problems with CityLink before, but they are still a lot better than some of the others (one company insists on delivering our stuff to a place down the road), silly thing is they always accept it and unpackit, so we end up with second hand goods effectively. Super.

I thought City Link was bad until i met the local DHL bunch
They were due to deliver me a replacement O2 phone yesterday but it didn't come, i checked on their web page to find 'inadequate address' cited as the reason for non-delivery. The funny thing is that they delivered to the exact same address just a week ago! they didn't seem to have any problems back then.
I called them to get an explanation from them and they said that they can't find my house, so i asked what was the problem? you got my full post code? yes. you've got my house number and road? yes. Its obviously in London. yes. so whats the problem? you delivered to the exact same address last week?! ' erm we still don't know where you are exactly in london?!?!? ' was their reply!
The fools, i just told them not to bother and had to go up to vauxhall and collect the stupid thing myself!

how good they are at delivering is normally irrelivent to me as i am never in, so i prefer stuff that comes from the royal mail as thir depot is about 5 mins walk for me

I find citylink where I am are okay for delivering, absolutely crap for picking things up.

The last time I needed something picking up (a scan return), i specified a 9-12 slot, was told by scan that this was okay. When i rung citylink at 12.30 (in the afternoon...) they said the pickup times were 'guidance' and not 'guarenteed'

I would not mind if scan told me this...

One interesting fact - be sure to check where the nearest branch is - I checked for my in-laws, Beverley, expecting Hull & was shocked that it is Scunthorpe (either a 3 day trek or a toll across the bridge) & my aunt & uncle, expecting they'd have a depot in Blackpool - nope, Preston. Thank goodness for my aunt's retired neighbour!

THats perfectly understandable preston isnt that far from blackpool, certainly not far enough to warrant a new delivery center. and the fact that you dont want to use a toll road is superfluous, again, its prob more cost effective to pay for a van across the toll than a new depot.

In my experience cuty link are ace, deliveries nearly always here before 2pm, and driver has been known to arrange special delivery times if bribed with a cup of tea.

    Hi,

Im not bias, but i have always had good service from city link, i missed my new phone by around 30 mins, i rang the number on the card and they came back and delivered, i was well impressed, this happened before i was working for SCAN , but i thought i may as well point out my experience whilst we were on the subject ...

    Regards

After not being able to get an Opteron 146 on my birthday, I decide to get a joystick as I need a new one anyway. According to city link they tried to deliver and left a card - i've been in all day and guess what, no attempted delivery and no card.

    FFS!

Yeah, you think they are excellent because you have a human delivery person. What about the numerous no card but they say they called stories? Yes if you miss a delivery a 30+ mile journey is fine, but if the driver is a moron, runs up to the door, runs away and does it twice more, doesn't seem so reasonable. (Yes I have seen a post about a driver being watched approaching a door & leaving without knocking.)

    Re: city link suck!

I have used Scan for the first time this week Only to be let down by City Link going to the wrong house.
I phoned City link and they asked me if my front door is brown i said no my front door is red the only option is for me to drive over a hundred miles round trip to Exeter or waste another day tomorrow waiting

Its a shame if you have to base your online purchases on who ever the courier is
