    Re: city link suck!

Luckly I've never had an issue with City Link at any address I've been at, I guess its the old 'postcode lottery' thing. Shame that companies (such as Scan, Ebuyer, etc) get a bad name from them.

    Re: city link suck!

Got a superb 'Regular' driver that calls with my stuff. Awesome guy. Very helpful indeed. Its when you get a different driver that sometimes 'may' cause problems etc.

Got to say, well happy with CityLink myself.

    Re: city link suck!

Follow up to yesterdays post when city link went to wrong house .

Well after being told by City Link that someone would phone me if there was a problem with the delivery that at 10-38 am today the driver again went to the wrong house and i was not contacted i phoned city link and luckily the driver wasnt to far away and come back and found me

I wasnt very happy and when i pointed out where the driver went wrong he got a bit funny

I should be enjoying my purchase but feel so let down by city link that all i see is a lump of metal and some wire want to place another order but cant be doing with City Link especially the driver i met today

    Re: city link suck!

City Link restores some faith for me after they lost an order about 2-weeks ago from Ebuyer.
Enermax Revolution 1050W PSU from Scan in Manchester to where I am in the Midlands delivered Next day @11am after placing the order yesterday lunchtime.
£6.95 was also a good price to pay for next day delivery something which was so heavy albeit a small parcel.

    Re: city link suck!

I think a lot of Citi Link depots are franchises so it can be hit and miss depending on where you are in the country. the one near me have been really poor in the past with lame excuses like we carded your address when they hadn't to we could find your address (Well I left my house in the same place the last time you delivered to me). They seem to have improved but I think you tend to get this with a lot of couriers these days.

    Re: city link suck!

Unfortunately all deliver companies are only as good as the local driver who delivers the product to the customer.

My old company used to use citylink and the driver we had would do anything for you and was curtious, but when he was on holiday, the replacement was rude and would not bother coming to us sometimes saying that he tried to deliver, which of course we knew was rubbish as we had a clear view of the only entrance into the property he could use.

Unfortunately it turns out that you are one of the people with a crappy Citylink driver - let scan deal with it, I'm sure they'll give him a kick up the arse for you

    Re: city link suck!

I've had poor service with city-link in Edinburgh, Nottingham, Leamington, Burton, Coventry.

I would say around 60% of the deliveries have had problems.

I haven't had the same problems with royal mail, DHL or others.

I have had occasional problems with CL but mostly they're fine, plus they're nowhere near as bad as the Home Delivery Network.

    Re: city link suck!

They used to cause a few problems trying to be too clever when part of our business moved. Automatically redirecting all the things I ordered to the other branch was very infuriating.

Got to know the regular driver now though and the service has picked right up. If he sees it has my name on it he takes it through to the offices for me, good service. They are also fairly good with re-deliveries, etc. Delivery times are hit and miss, but they always actually try to deliver the day they say they will for us.

The driver we get is great from City Link.

Have to go with Salazaar with HDN though. They are simply woeful! Avoid!
