never needed to do that, but yeah try it..
you could always slap another 9800 in there and get 2 gpu clients going
out of interest, if you force the client to use just the one core does it max it out or is it the gpu thats reaching its limit?

Solved! I can now SMP fold too
For other people having problems, save this into a batch file:
TASKKILL /F /IM "FahCore_a1.exe"
TASKKILL /F /IM "mpiexec.exe"
TASKKILL /F /IM "smpd.exe"
then to exit, first Ctrl+C then run the batch file. No more deleted work units for me
Pointless getting another gtx as I don't have a SLI mobo... I might overclock it though
How many points per hour does your 3870 get? For comparison, this gets about 200
Mildly overclocked and now takes 15 secs per 1%
11% less time per unit now
death is part of life.. embrace it
just want to see whats the fastest % you can get

remember Agent, our cards have just lost £50 of value, so volt modding is good so you can have a faster card
Damn this is good. According to Fahmon, I've gone from about 350 points per day on a E6320@2.1Ghz to >3500 on my BFG8800GTS 320MB.
I installed CUDA 177.35 drivers on XP 32bit using updated .inf file. It still complained of missing dll files during the install, but 'fortune favours the bold' and all, so I just skipped past. Quick Google search says the missing bits might be something to do with localisation for control panel applets or something - do I care?!
Noticed some oddities though. Displaying and hiding the graphical view or even just bringing another window to the front seems to cause a freeze for 5-10 seconds. I'm guessing the graphics card is busy doing "real work" and doesn't appreciate being interrupted. Also, 1 core is fully utilised. I've read that some people don't get this and thought using 177.35 drivers would help, but no joy so far.
I need to try OC'ing with Rivatuner next. Never really done it before, so it's all a bit experimental. So many other questions now though. What gets more PPD/£ - PS3, AMD, NVidia? If I got (say) a 4870 in a few months, could I install it with the old 8800GTS and fold on both?
Ah well, look forward to seeing what everyone else's experiences with the new GPU core are like.
This thing flies
I'm surprised Zak hasn't been in here yet
Seems to work really well in the backgound when playing games too. Sure, the work it does drops but it still gets some done.
Has anyone else enabled the 'big' WUs that are over 10meg? I have but don't think I've had any
i downloaded it but i dont really understand why it is using a whole 50% of my cpu(intotal), thought it was a GPU client not a GPU+ CPU client, am i wrong?. Does the work fast i must admit but it lags my computer way more than usimg smp client which was using 100% constantly, gives my gpu a proper work out which is higher than crysis .
