I've been adding the odd work unit or two as well over the last few weeks.
Now that I've figured out why it was breaking (Note - don't press the Win key + L to lock PC) it's slowly churning out WU's at the rate of about 1% each 12 minutes.
Thanks for that. Guess I should post more on here.
I guess I could
My home system is a little bit of a beast
Asus P5Q Pro
Dual Core E8400 Processor - Overclocked to 3.6ghz with Freezer 7 cooler
4Gb Geil PC2-8500C5 Memory
HIS ATI Radeon HD 4870 512mb Graphics Card
HIS HIS ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro Turbo X 512MB Graphics Card
2 Seagate 7.2k 500Gb Drives in Raid 0
A further 4 hard drives, making a total of 3.5Tb of storage
Auzentech X-Plosion DTS Connect 7.1 Sound Card hooked up to a Yamaha A2 Processor
and all nicely (and quite tightly) housed in a Antec 900 Case.
Currently setup to tri boot into either Xp, Vista 64bit or Windows 7 32bit depending on what I need to do.
Bit of an awful pic but you get the idea
That machine is folding using the cpu smp client and the gpu client side by side.
I also use two Dell optiplex 520's with the cpu folding clients, 2 x virtual servers (1 x 2003 and 1 x 2008) with cpu clients, 3 x Dell poweredge servers (2 x 2.66ghz quad cores and 1 x 3Ghz Dual core) running
the smp client. Only issue I am having is the smp clients dont seem to like uploading their results and I will lose 2 out of every 5 assignments which is a tad annoying.
Sorry for the long post for those that read it!
cheers
Ryan
I hope that lot is all folding for hexus!!
My little box has been churning away for 3 days now, dropped a wu last night I think
averaging a % every 20mins or so - one wu every 33 hours or so... that makes sense.

Am happy to report that i broke the top 100, although given that i'm achieving that on a single thread indicates that we have quite a few infrequent contributors.
The really interesting thing however is that after a period of wobbliness for the Hexus team at around 150 -> 152 -> 150 etc, we're today at 144! Wow.

Heh.
I am intrigued by your setup, I take it you using the 2 ATI cards in crossfire. Is the GPU folding making up the bulk of the points? Also are you running just one instance of the GPU2 client or 2?
I tried running SMP and GPU2 together and found that I was getting much higher ppd with just the GPU2. I am running a 4870 512mb and a Q6600 @ 3.05 btw.

Due to the three monitors, I can not run crossfire so both cards are seperate. Only the 4800 is running the gpu client which uses 100% of the gpu processor and 50% of the cpu cores. The smp is then set to use only a single cpu maiking up the 100% of the processor time.
The gpu does fold quickly and averages about 600 points per units and completes one every 4-5 hours where the smp client completes one unit every 22ish hours for 2700-3000 points (I set the client to use the big work units)
BTW, anyone having any issues with the gpu client and version 9.1 of the ati drivers. My gpu clients are just crashing out now.
