    infrarecorder

Burn the DVD to the HDD as an image (iso)

Burn the HDD image to a DVD

The right to sue someone should be against the law, so fat people who sue Macdonalds for not realising a cup of tea would be hot, or for the chav who tripped on a pavement because they couldn't be bothered to lift their feet up and look where they were going can be locked up or further moor shot for wasting good air....

    Tee hee, rant over.
Did you discuss who would own the rights to his work prior to the event? If so you probably know where you stand on this, if not perhaps you should have. What difference does the nationality of the cameraman make?

As for the right to sue someone being against the law... That's going in my sig. I see what you did there, and it's genius.

    Seriously.

But as said before, you don't need a ripper as there is no protection on the original DVD so you can just copy it as though it was data, which is all it is.

    Simply not true

There are versions of DVD shrink that will burn with DVD Decrypter and IMG Burn
