It would seem that the frame buffer and memory bus makes a difference at stock but once overclocked there's not much in it you're right.Originally Posted by Englander

I'm sure I read that it does make a difference in games, though, because in the process of notching down the memory, they also get rid of a few ROPs or stream processors or something to keep it all in proportion.
it's a 256 bit memory bus rather than 192 bit iirc. Makes a difference in games indeed.

Well, We ranked up, broke the 7 million mark (and may even hit 8 million by the end of the month) and I think I just cleared a million points in less than 3 days so its all good!

Personally I'm enjoying this snap of cold weather and hope it stays for a while to come otherwise I have to do "naked folding" due to the temp in my room. Last month it was:
(Cumulative points to end Nov - Cumulative points to end Oct)/ Cumulative points to end Oct)%
Applying this to the current stat this is:
Last month cumulative: 3585541
This month cumulative: 4073426
Delta: 487885
487885/3585541 = 0.14... or 14%
Now I've got 12 months worth of figures in my spreadsheet, I can start working out an average figure, and using this to measure improvement, which I'll do from the end of January. I didn't want to change the logic for the last month in the year = might get accused of fixing numbers....

If you add these up you get
189129+94259+76727+580
which gives us the magical number of 360695.
Can you specify what you thinks wrong with yours specifically?
