hey all,
quiet recently here. i'm back folding part time.
anyone know the deal with keplar cards for folding? if i recall, when they first came out they couldn't but they seem mad power efficient.

Wow! Numbers have really dropped off for team Hexus this year!
I've never known it to be so quiet on the folding front. I guess this is what happens when the next gen GPU's don't support folding very well... interest seems to be down across the board as the power shift of CPU vs GPU shifts back toward CPU's... Who'd have thought that the decision to switch the minimum requirement for BIGADV type units to 16 cores would have had such a profound effect!

Not sure it is just because of the new gen gpu's folding has always seemed to drop off a little in the summer months, some people don't like dumping an extra few hundred watts of heat into their houses
And talking about GPU's I am thinking about getting a GTX660 or HD7870/7950 but cannot seem to find concrete details on how either of them fold (been looking at 670 numbers as they have the same amount of shaders)

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Having moved back in with my parents, two things have changed; central heating is used sparingly and I no longer have to pay for my own electricity bills
So I've started folding again on my ITX rig running one GPU and two uni clients. Also thinking about building a bigadv-16 rig some time towards the end of this year if I can sort out a rig for the right price.
check out this thread, hopefully we can get some multi socket hexus action going

About to fire up the beast.
Let's see what a 2500K and GTX 680 can net overnight.

For some reason I've dropped from 6k/day for 600/day on the old work beta server. I should probably stop folding on that, tbh: I haven't worked for that unit for almost 6 months...
Joining up the Hexus team with my i5-3750k / GTX 660 gig.
Quick heads up; there is an NV beta WU (project 8057) going around which awards quick return bonuses, I've configured my folding client to fold beta WUs on my GTX670 and I'm getting 100k PPD from it.
QRBs will be rolled out to regular GPU WUs some time in the future, but in the mean time, if you've got an NV GPU folding right now you may want to consider acepting beta WUs for a huge PPD increase.
To accept beta WUs on your V7 client;
- Look for the options to configure client folding slots
- Select your GPU slot and click on edit
- Add an extra slot option and type in to the respective boxes;
Name: client-type
Value: beta
Keep in mind, although you're set up for beta WUs e.g. the QRB awarding 8057, you'll continue to receive non QRB WUs, so be patient if you don't see an increase in predicted PPD.
Report back with your results
I'll have mess about later on.

I'm still CPU folding on v6 SMP, is there any benefit to moving to v7? Looked a while ago and didn't like losing the console element to it, is there a way to keep this and upgrade?
There's no performance benefit moving from v6 to v7 because the SMP cores are the same for both clients.
As far as I know, the console on v7 is only available on Linux. Although, I think the utilitarian UI on the v7 client is alright.
my corei5 work lappy is still folding away (in Sair's name) every work day... day after day... week after week... month after month.
way into the top 100 now
