Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I tried running folding on my home pc but I have a heat issue. Cpu was hitting over 70 degrees, motherboard was hitting 50 degrees. I think I have hit the limit of air cooling in a very full case now.
Might be time to speak with Tatty regarding water cooling...
Didn't exist 17 years ago. Well - obviously as concepts they existed. But they weren't available as a module in First Year NatSci. You never know, if that'd been available and I'd taken it instead of Chemistry I might actually have passed my first year...
Anyway, folding. Having just checked my points and my server, it appears that setting up your client as a service causes it to retrieve a new user ID, which has reset my smp unit count to 0. So, no bonus points for me until I've completed 10 WU, which will mean end of the week at the earliest. *sigh*

That's admitting defeat! If you're cautious of Water cooling, then the Corsair H100's and the Antec Kuhler 920 look like they should be a good start point - The Antec was BETTER than a custom WC loop by up to 3C.
My setup has 2 loops (1 gfx cards, 1 CPU) and runs at a max of 70C. Usually it's 55-65C depending on load and ambient temps.
CPU loop has a "fat" phobya 3.120 Rad with 3xGentle Typhoons in push, before the Apogee XT, then a "fat" phobya 1.120 with 2x120mm Gentle typhoons, one pushing, one pulling. The GTX 480's have a swiftech 2.120 on the outbound and one on the inbound return, and they run at 45C rising to 60C under EXTREME load. Basically the CPU's the thing that still gets "hot" but it's MUCH cooler that it was when I had the i7 980X rig in there. That would get up to nearly 85C when folding at 4.1ghz on 12 threads, which was way too hot (1.35 Vcore) for 24/7 operation.
I used the P8P67 board recently and that had a thermaltake Frio onboard, and that would sit around 70C when EXTREME testing (2500K running 1.55V @ 5.28ghz). I don't think you really need to go water cooling with these S1155 rigs. Long term water cooling is a platform that transcends CPU "generations" so it may be worth it if you go the whole hog, but it'll cost you a packet to get it set up right in the first instance.

Gutted.
New CAD machine with Xeon E31270, 8Gb RAM and Quadro 2000 gfx.
Thought "Brilliant run GPU client silently!"
Of course this being my first Win7 FaH install I hadn't realised it won't run as a service.
Oh and it won't run in the background while users chop and change.
The primary user isn't an admin and so even a scheduled clandestine run is not on the table.
So this potential points monster is going to sit idle 95% of the day

Can't you run http://www.stanford.edu/~friedrim/Fo...GPU_XP-641.zip as per Jim's comments....?

I am running a h60 with push/pull fan setup (granted as an exhaust rather than an intake) with even with all my case fans (5 x 120mm and 1 x 240mm) running at 100%, the case internal temp is getting too high with the 2 x 6870's running at 100%. Water would appear to be the only way to get that temp outside of the case.
Well, that's going to be one serious lot of kit to buy.... and no doubt lots of debate as to what's truly the best.
I'd start your own thread and get the recommendations from the hardware forum guys.
I've been delighted with Koolance and Swiftech's stuff. If you ignore the nickel blocks, EK blocks for the gfx cards seem a nice easy choice, Radiators, pumps and hosing...... take your pick! The onyl thing that I'd urge you to do is have a drain point somewhere at the bottom of the loop. I get sick and tired of draining my rigs and splashing coloured water everywhere. Very messy process that takes forever to flush through....
Clunk has got an excellent thread on the process

Out of interest, what settings have you got the 2600K at@ Vcore? Freq?
Have you seen the overclocking guide....

Cpu 4500mhz (100x45.0) Vcore = 1.335V
Randomly, Bclk Freq is showing as 4.2Mhz in the Asus TurboV Evo Tool which I am guessing has to be wrong.
Ah, CPU-Z shows the bus speed as 100Mhz so i guess that is stock.
As for the water cooling kit, I guess its going to be expensive and possibly might wait.

Twice.
You using custard as thermal paste?
Only other thing are the fans - what are they?
It could be that your 2600K just runs hot. I've had 980X's that do, but so far neither of my 2600K's do... Titan Fenrir with one fan on low revs just about copes at 70-75C so I'd have thought that the Corsair unit would easily.
Stupid question, but the fans are blowing in the same direction....

This kit looks about as good as anything on the market right now.....
