    Re: 100 press up challenge

I'm not too sure if I can 100 in one go, but not harm in trying. Whats the worse I can do?

At the moment I can do about 30 press ups.

    Re: 100 press up challenge

38, not terrible. Used to be able to do more, but I've gotten lazy and the gym fell by the wayside a long time ago, smoking probably doesn't help either.

Even with my ever growing gut, I still find sit-ups a lot easier, can blast out a hundred at a decent pace still, wipes me out a lot more than it used to though.

I been running average 2 miles every other day. started recently and already dropped a waist size, if recent shopping sortie is anything to go by. Then again, I eat a mostly asian diet, so not much in the way of McD's or KFC to fight against

Just done it, did better than I expected at 19. I always end up trying to do them really fast, so I can get as many done as possible before my arms realise they are dying Dunno if that's helping me or not.

Hmm forgot about that, i forget that you have to put all your weight through your wrists... I think i'm out (still nursing a dodgem + wrist impact injury) I'll give it a go later on in the week with my crunches though...

    Same!
I can do 50 sit ups with ease and could probably stretch it loads further if I tried.

situps are easy because you're sitting on your arse

    Re: 100 press up challenge

I'd have to agree with SiM, if people are doing 50-100 sit-ups (or press-ups for that matter) and are finding it 'easy', if they're not very fit in some other way, then they're probably doing it wrong

I used to hang out with some very fit chappies, and none of us could do 100 sit-ups properly and find it easy. We were lab rats for sports institute tests, which was fun... not! "Just run round this track, as fast as you can, until you collapse". Um... ok. I still hear Beep Test beeps in my nightmares...

Yup, get the technique right before upping the reps... You can seriously hurt yourself by doing 50 wrong sit ups repeatedly

Have a Google, there's plenty of instructions/tips Also plenty of info on how much damage you can do yourself if they're not done correctly.

Press-ups are less likely to injure you, but if you do them incorrectly you won't really see any benefit.
