I wanted Liverpool to win to place a bigger gap between Chelski and the top of the table.

Glad to see they didnt park the bus, pretty even game in all.

But

What a GOAL!!!!!!

Apart from that he played pretty poorly but im certainly not complaining.

I know he won Man of match for "That" goal, but personally i thought Smalling was Superb and was the best player on pitch followed closely by Kompany and Vidic.

He did shin it (as was plainly clear in the freeze-frames on MOTD2 last night), so terms of quality of goal, does it matter that he mis-kicked it or not? Two different ways of looking at that one I guess.

As good a goal as Rooney's was, it is being blow up to be something else.

I am a passionate Spurs hater, but Gareth Bale's volley in the first game of the season was a much better goal imho.
Techinique and execution were perfect.

(and the Van Persie goal versus Charlton a couple of seasons ago was just as good)

Problem is, Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard and the rest of the UK mob all get the plaudits because of where they are from. Any English (or UK player), always gets the applause when most of the time they are out-performed by the foreign players.

I also watch the MOD2 coverage, and it looked different depending on which angle you looked at it. but to be perfectly honest i dont care which part of his leg it hit it was still a great goal and deffo a "contender" for goal of the season.

It pains me to say it but i agree with you.

I know you will undoubtedly say he is complete crap because he is a liverpool player But Raul meireles is knocking in some crackers for liverpool of late. Kenny dalglish has put him in his right position ( something recent liverpool managers seemed not to do with players)

Merieles has hit a purple patch, and I think his goal against Chelsea was very good.

I dunno i think he has just found the form he was capable of he played very well for portugal at the world cup (obviously you wouldn't have been able to see him play because ronaldos ego blocks everyones view)

He also played well for his last club, But he does seem to have found some confidence.


And the goal against chelsea wasnt good it was absolutely awesome.

Just a more philosophical view on life......
I was very ill a while ago, and have just had the 'all clear'. It was a little tense

Great result for Blackpool last night. Plus it was helpful to my fantasy team with Adam and DJ Campbell :-)
