    Payment change delayed order

    Invoice 00E1381786
Was originally paid for with PayPal but was apparently payment declined (I think I might have an out of date card stored on paypal). I rang up to ask why payment authorised had not been ticked and was told this. Fair enough, but an email would have been nice, rather than having to call myself.
Anyway, ignoring that, once correcting the payment (and payment authorised was ticked) I was told the order should be dispatched today. So far, not even picked, let alone dispatched. Am I likely to expect the order on Wednesday instead?

    Re: Payment change delayed order

Haha, looks like I eat my own words, picked at 7:24pm. That'll learn me I'll bear that in mind for next time. Normally I wouldn't have been so concerned, but due to the PayPal mixup, payment wasn't cleared until almost 3pm, and I know the next day delivery cutoff can be quite early at Scan.

    Re: Payment change delayed order

The declined email is sent immediately the payment is not authorised, so there should be no need to call to check status.

Please check the email on your account is correct, and also that your spam filter didn't catch the message.

Also - putting your mobile number would mean you'd have received sms notification as well.

    Re: Payment change delayed order

I might have been sent a text, I'm having to use a temporary number. However, there was definitely no email, not in the spam folder either.
However, another problem has just appeared, what's going on here?

Midday and it's still not even arrived at the delivery depot?

    Re: Payment change delayed order

I was going to, but after realising how much credit staying in a phone queue for 10 minutes costs, I decided to hang up, having not moved one single place in the queue. Understandably in the weather their call centres are overburdened, I was just wondering if there were any blanket alerts Scan had received re: late deliveries today other than 'your delivery may be delayed due to the weather'

    Re: Payment change delayed order

The tracking status isn't always 100% up-to-the-second accurate.

    IIRC CityLink deliver until 5/6pm.

I feel your pain though, rushing off to try and pinch a loaf out while listening for the door just knowing the second you get comfortable the doorbell will go

    Re: Payment change delayed order

Haha, know that feeling all too well
Usually the tracking system for citylink works reasonably well, which is why on this occasion I'm concerned. The only other occasion this exact situation has occurred was with ParcelForce, and when i phoned them, they said they'd lost the parcel. Fortunately they found it the following day, so it was only 2 days late but still, that's not something I'd like to experience again, since with the ParcelForce example most of the stuff didn't even belong to me!

    Re: Payment change delayed order

Consignment arrived this morning at 9am. When I (politely) asked the driver why it didn't arrive on the due date, I was told "I think it ended up somewhere else, these things happen sometimes". A little blazé for my liking, I'm still not exactly impressed, but nonetheless, I have my stuff at long last.
