Makes sense. Just hope they rethink that god awful grey-blue crap.

Also nice to see Apple not doing the usual wait-for-an-expo thing when releasing new products, it makes sense in an field with ever increasing competition.

Edit: Someone buy my NetMD off Amazon If that sells I'm ordering a new 20gig.

Thing is, the new prices make the mini seem expensive.

    £179
    4gb
    8hr batt

    £219
    20gb
    12hr batt

There's not masses of physical size difference either. I went for the 40gb, coz I nearly bought a 3rd Gen 40gb at 399, so £100 off in my eyes makes it a bargain!

Is there software available to allow one to plug the iPod into either a firewire or USB2 port and see it as external mass media? Being able to use the iPod as an external hard drive would be most useful and probably tip it in my favour.

erm, well i dont know exactly what u mean but when u plug it in u can use it as a regular hard drive. When i last installed windooze i had the option to install it to the IPod drive which i forgot to unplug the firewire cable.

edit...so it was, returns to bed must not have slept long enuf.
