Sadly, no. Even catching one of them didn't make any difference as you're told there's no point in prosecuting, and if people took it into their own hands they'd just do more damage the next time they cut through.

When folks ask me where I am from I always say North East Scotland where the nice people live.
And they never drink Buckfast.

On a serious note
I am not one for spending out on polished metal with a wheel at each corner.
Usually buy cavaliers and run them into the ground so never had a problem.
This year I decided to treat myself a little and (dont laugh) I bought myself a nice Xsara 1.9 turbo diesel.
It now has several dents and numerous scratches and it makes me want to kick somebodys teeth in.

Reminds me. When I lived in Bahrain a guy working at the same bank had an E-type Jag. One day he came out of work to find that someone had scratched the phrase "I hate fucxing wogs" on the boot lid, and "Fucxing wogs" on the bonnet.

Sadly for the perpetrator, the bank car park was under constant surveillance and the security guys saw who did it. They called the owner (who was British and white BTW) and showed him the video. They also called the police who threw him in jail. They offered the owner the opportunity to have the vandal jailed for 1 year, but he rejected it in favour of cash payment of the repair bill. The news crept upstairs to management and they fired the scratcher (yes, he worked there too) and sent him back to Britain, jobless. Couldn't help but laugh.

redlight, I do something similar. I always drive a car I can afford to get damaged (currently an old BMW E32 740iL) which I park in the street. My wife has a flash-mobile and that goes in the garage. That way I always know that any dents and dings on my wife's car are her fault, so I spank her. (actually, that last bit's just fantasy, but, you know.)

It's just a wee village really ! I don't actually live in the aforementioned area, I'm out in the country with with the coo's Although as with pretty much all areas near Glasgow/Edinburgh/any Scottish city I can be in a ned heartland within 10 minutes
