    Re: The 'STY' 4 4

I thought I would treat myself to some new drives.

Two Samsung F3's to be run in raid 0 and a F2 for a little extra storage.

As previously stated this case is very big but does not have any place to put the drives.
With a little help from Tom @ ChilledPc, I had this

As you can see, this has also been powder coated in black texture.

    With drives fitted.

    More to come later!!!!

    Re: The 'STY' 4 4

After mounting the drives I connected the power supply and decided I did not like the look of the cables.
I then had a look around the bay and found a very helpful trader called 'cheesefeat' or Richard as I know him.
After a few e-mails I purchased a sata power extension cable.

I then set about doing a little braiding

After an hour, I had this.

I then manufactured a case to mount the hard drives in.

When I purchased the sata power cable, I also purchased some round sata cables.

I then connected the cables and had this

    Very neat I think??

    Re: The 'STY' 4 4

    Thanks very much Million.
With my cpu overclocked to 4.1Ghz and running prime95 for hours. Its only up to 40C on all four cores.
When I run furmark on my cards , I get 40 -50 degC on them both.
    So I am very happy.
Now looking at my next build which I think will be a completely custom setup.

    Re: The 'STY' 4 4

I cant put down exact figures just in case Mrs Piggin gets to see this.
This build has not been that expensive as most of the hardware was from my previous build.
This time I have purchased :-
new case + mods + powder coating
    new rads
    new fans
    new pumps
    new pump tops
    new fan controller
    new hard drives
all new pipework + £120 on fittings

    So in all
