Funnily enough although I hate the tedious walking and hacking computers I found that you just hammer the computers top few passwords and power down when you have one try left, repeat till password is got. It's much quicker. Secondly I noticed that if you follow the main quest it's actually got a fair bit going on and I did enjoy it. Once I realised that I was collecting far too much ammo and weapons and had to keep dumping them at my house at megaton I stopped using VATS and used it as a first person shooter and it was much better.
I've ignored revol68's comments as I and everyone else has in the past.

Ammo has no weight, only nades etc, use the extra weapons to repair you current ones... (2 of the same weapon)

There is a technique to guess the passwords without having to 'cheat' by the way you did, although it may possibly get you less experience it means you don't have to keep guessing

I think I'm going to go back to it this weekend as I fancy getting the GOTY edition to save money buying all the DLC separate and I might be able to sell on the box version to someone for nominal cost

Re: Fallout 3 - What do you think?

im off on holiday soon so i will definetly spend sometime revisiting the wasteland again.

i kind of ruined mye xperience with it as i killed too many people in the wasteland to have any side quests to do. im approaching the last level from the main quest though and want to complete that before starting it all again doing nothing but side quests.

To answer your question Azzin, there is no demo. just buy it. you wont be dissapointed. it is a BRILLIANT game. my best game of last year

I just didn't get on with Fallout. I definitly preferred Oblivion to it.

I loved Oblivion, I've put off buying fallout 3 because of mixed reviews on Amazon, I think I will take the plunge now its so cheap 2nd hand.

Buy it, buy it, buy it. If you don't like it - it doesn't matter, your opinion is unimportant, as you must be a very inadequate and insignificant person

Re: Fallout 3 - What do you think?

Fallout 3 is my favourite game of the past 4 years, alongside Stalker, I tried to get on with Oblivion because it was Bethesda but I thought it was just rubbish, mostly because of the god awful Hi Fantasy clichéd setting and dialogue but also because melee centred combat in the first person is just awfully clunky.

I suppose it mostly comes down to whether you are a Tolkein nerd or not.
"The less you eat, drink and buy books; the less you go to the theatre, the dance hall, the public house; the less you think, love, theorise, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you save – the greater becomes your treasure which neither moths nor rust will devour – your capital. The less you are, the less you express your own life, the more you have, the greater is your alienated life, the greater is the store of your estranged being." Karl Marx

the Melee in Oblivion is a LOT better than it is in Fallout.
i decided to crack on with Fallout 3 GOTY edition to keep me occupied until Xmas and i love it! the appeal to me is that i loved oblivion and i always wanted to play an RPG like that but in a more fututistic setting, which this is - my only 'niggle' is the hacking is such a joke in terms of being annoying and not even entertaining.
im just polishing off Point Lookout, then im heading south (think its south) to the Mothership expansion part.

how far into the game do you get a house? i could do with some storage space!
