Not a PC game as such, but my nephew really enjoys the Star Wars games on the Cartoon Network website.
Path of the Jedi is actually fairly decent. I end up *helping* quite a bit.
worms, and you could try the NES simulator or SFC simulator, Contra and other games....just like our early ages, remember to buy a good controller tho, Xbox360 wireless controller for windows is a good choice
I used to play something called Hyperblast when I was that sort of age, that and Bruce Lee! on my Dad's Atari 800XL 8bit FTW! (showing my age here).
Look at some of the games you can play for free through chrome browser there are some classics there including missle command and angry birds.
