It wasn't just on the iGi servers. It was quite a few I tried.

Yeah, it's an issue with the servers not always opening up ports properly so the VOIP doesn't actually work. It usually takes 2/3 restarts apparently to get it going properly. If you do find an issue with VOIP not working on the iGi servers, give me a prod and I'll get the server restarted.

There's a lot of unforgiving guys playing on the iGi servers - heaven forbid you put one foot out of place

PR is sooo good though, so that makes up for the few fools.

At the moment our patience is being worn a touch thin can I say?

Because of the recent influx of n00bs that tends to happen each and every release, there's only so many times one can respond to a 'how do i get a kit' or 'what's the shovel do?' patiently and nicely hehe.

We are n00b friendly honestly, but we do expect people to have kinda read the read me!

might not be igi chaps being touch remember - I just ask the people doing **** wrong to stop doing it if they continue I just keep telling them what to do/not do to make the game play well, if they are actively messing up with the game and ignoring me
    , well, hasher stuff happens

by messing up the gameplay, I mean constantly wasting resources like APCs and spawn cars and/or base raping uncappables

the thing is, I can take a team of noobs who listen and turn them into a round-winning squad great PR players. join the 'teamvoip' team if you ever see it

I completely agree - and I should have said they weren't iGi guys.

Had a go again last night but I keep CTD on a few maps and lagging like a lagging person on another. I'll have to do some tweaking and give it another go. Chucking rocks has never been so fun...ever!

At the moment with the new influx of players you tend to find this happens. Because there's no IDing of friend/foe, people often mistake the uniforms and open fire.

This is really bad now that you've got 1km or greater view distances.

Well, that is true, but at least it makes it realistic. I can't wait to try this out myself. Greater view distances=sex.

I love the game, my machine does not though. There also seems to be little comms between squads, presuming your lucky enough to be in a good squad in the first place

I DLed, installed and played the 0.6 release last night. It's just a whole other level of immersion over vanilla BF2! It reminds me somewhat of Americas Army when I played a few years ago - one life per round made you very cautious and you die quick so play tactical and keep yr head down!

I played one round with a few RL buddies, one who had played before, the other two of us brand spanking new newbies playing our first round. I was extremely suprised to get the sniper kit when I requested it and stayed alive for the rest of the round racking up 240+ points, 18 kills, my private badge and basic sniper combat badge I was wired for hours afterwards in a way BF2 has never grabbed me. 120% concentration all the way through!

I know people slam players for sniper whoring and 'camping' but I play sniper in BF2 because I like the play style required to stealth yr way to a good vantage point using cover and concealment and providing cover for the rest of my squad getting stuck in there. Limiting the no of kits per team is a great way to prevent abuse of powerful kits... as long as I can use the one I want! Heh.

    Anyway, liking it alot

Anyone else getting REALLY bad lag in PR? BF2 works fine, it's so silky smooth but when I fire up PR I just lag like a lagging person in lagland and I hate it.

Any particular maps or all of em? Usually people complain of lag have a terrible system but you clearly haven't. What's your sound card?
