doesn’t seem to have the effect Sony wanted it to me thinks, I’m not saying this because I’m a fan boy; I’m not, I only have a pc but am aware games consoles are bloody good at what they are intended to do, especially against some pc’s, but all of these links lead me to believe otherwise

Sale figures for last week seem to have dissappeared on the face of the earth.

I'm interested to see if it can sustain these sales tho, once the novelty of owning a PS3 wears off - then what>

Very true, but if they only have a handful of people with a console capable of playing the games, they won't be able to make their money back any time soon.

and people say the ps3 had a good start? i can bet you some serious money that most people who bought the ps3 was because its a cheap blu ray player.

the average teenager would not buy this has its tooo expensive. i would like to see some statistics that indicate the age range of people who usethe ps3, i wont be surprised if around 70-80% who use the ps3 where over 25

It's not the average teenager who buys consoles though, it's their parents.

And it's also the kids who want the console, very rarely will a kid not shout and scream that they want a PS3. The average teenagers do buy their own consoles, I bought all of mine when I became a teenager, but then obviously my income came from pocket money/birthday money, so it was effectively them buying it for me. Obviously this time the console is just too expensive for parents and teenagers right now, and with no christmas, theres not much in the way of, ooh get me a PS3 for christmas! like there should have been.

exactly.. which justifies my estimate that most people who bought and use a ps3 are over 25..

Which leads me to believe they might have bought it because its a cheap blu ray player

Well I think the UK apparently got 200k of those 300k, I'm pretty certain more than half of the original stock is still on the shelves.
