    Re: Bioshock Official Thread**Possible Spoilers**

    SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the end of my game there was this cut scene where there is a load of people standing on top of a submarine when a biosphere surfaces, a splicer popes out and kills them all. The lady wasn't too happy with me ether. Something about unleashing an evil on the world!

I dunno, I didn't really get into it like I though I would. It might be the lack of AA or its my crappy 17 inch screen, ah well it will be 24 inch soon .

True but I had the feeling that it really was designed for wide-screen at a much higher res. It just dosent look right in 4:3.

Also my monitor is horrific, its a TFT made by IT works that came out in like 2002. So there is probs horrific ghosting going on but I cant tell as ive never played a pc game on a better monitor before.

I find it pretty much dumbed down system shock for the console audience, anyone else? Regardless not overly impressed.

That was bloody hilarious and actually pretty accurate I thought. I thought the controls seemed a little bit sluggish, especially when jumping and crouching. Might be just used to HL2/CS though.

    [SPOILER]
I didn't harvest any of the girls (still finished the game normal with ADAM left over) and got a "good" ending, where you give them all happy lives etc. Which was nice of me I thought...

So infact when you asked for other people's opinions you actually weren't asking for opinions, you were just asking for people to agree with you?

I maintain that it's not at all dumbed down. Turn off all the hint systems (which are optional for this very reason) and it's just like a good PC game.

    Re: Bioshock Official Thread**Possible Spoilers**

Dumbed down System Shock* before you fall off your rocker. That's what it is. No need for opinions. System Shock 2 was better. Bioshock copies it and dumbs it down tremendously for the console audience. Like I said it's a good game, but that dosn't make it any less of another lowest common denominator title. And who can blame them considering the poor sales of system shock. Massively hype a game, dumb it down to the right level, and you've got a winner.

Er...care to explain what 'dumbed down Shock Shock' means? Of course I know what you mean, but which bits are 'dumbed down'?

I don't buy the comparisons to System Shock. Bioshock is more of a homage to Beyond Good and Evil.

    Re: Bioshock Official Thread**Possible Spoilers**

I think its a dumbed down system shock too. I really disliked it. Boring, generic shooter. Had much more fun with the last few FPS's I've played, and more fun in Dark Messiah Might + Magic too. (Which Bioshock reminded me of, but wasn't as good as).

Nice production values, and thats about it.
