It is to me. Especially if the multiplayer ends up being pants (like the mods for the past GTA games).
How do you know?? It might be another Max Payne 2 or something. Why are you all so quick to defend it and yet question me? Are you all turning into brainwashed console gamers? Like all those people I saw who rushed out and bought Devil May Cry 4 and were complaining 3 days later that they'd finished it.. Short games used to be frowned upon by gamers and it kept the developers in check. If people dont care anymore then games will just end up rubbish. It's already heading that way. COD 4, Bioshock, etc.. they are all getting shorter. People fill forums with OMGZ TEH GRAFIX R TEH ROOL!! so everyone buys it, turns the game into a big success story, and then later everyone realises it was actually crappy value.
Christ sake its 35 quid. Hardly a life changing decision.
If you don't think it will suit you don't buy it.. stop whining on here about how its not fitting your minimum playtime requirement as a game.
The game as with most GTA games is what you make of it, I am sure he blitzed it ASAP to get the review out. You could spend hours upon hours doing side missions on this game or just beating the crap out of black people like I did for hours on SA.
Seriously anyone would think your about to buy a new house or something the way you are going on.

GTA has a reputation for always delivering, even the hand held version was awesome. Like its been said - if you dont want it then dont buy it but 35 dabs isnt exactly going to change the world if spent otherwize.

people like GTA for many reasons and one of them is 'lastability' so just give it a shot, or just rent it if you dont want to part game price on it.

Batty - What I'd say is, while I've never played a GTA game I considered a world beater, they have always been value for money. A lot of work goes into these things, and GTAIV is the most hyped game since Halo3. Halo3, love it or loathe it, is one of the most complete video games in history.
You might like it, you might not, but I can (almost) guarentee that there will be enough of it. The single player missions, the multiplayer, which isn't tacked on, achievements, the social club, in-game music downloads, blah, blah.
Also, it will be like Halo3 is for multiplayer - jump on, choose a hopper, 1000s of people are online. It will be rammed 24/7 so you can multiplay your little heart out.
In short, if you like GTA you will like this. Rockstar will have made sure this floats the boat of their core supporters.
I think, after all the hype, all the waiting, al the money thrown at it, etc, etc, the chances of it being short enough to be a problem, or the multiplayer being 'pants' are slim.
Buy it if you like GTA, don't if you don't.
It wont be aand you miss it job.

im paying 60+
but its the limited edition with game guide (going to use it for packages and rampages and such) besides you get a shiftly little novelty lock box

Limited edition = good.
Game guide = bad.
Why wait all this time to play it then have all the supprises spoiled. Thats like going to see a film with someone who has already seen it, and sits behind you telling you whats going to happen.
like i said, its mainly for the packages ect, its possible to not read game line content.

i read them when i want to find everything that are clearly hidden for a reason, or dont want to spend hours searching for the last few things. same with the Later FF series

I never said it was? You're the one who seems to think I'm making a huge dramatic deal out of it, when I'm actually not. As I've already said, I don't even have a console so I couldn't even buy it anyway! If seeing me talk about this game is stressing you out so much, perhaps coming to a discussion forum and clicking on the GTA4 topic and then reading all my posts isn't such a bright idea?
