Feel free to add me to your friends as i'm getting this tomorrow...also have TF2 which i've just started playing..cheers,Roo
Sleepy, that was funny the other night I properly HAD you and colossus with the tank... though it didn't help that colossus was pratting about outside, all I had to do was hurl a car at francis and bill then incap and kill you in the safe room and then finally go outside and tenderise colossus! hee hee!
I'll be online tonight if anyone is up for a game? perhaps some versus? we need 8 players in which case. hit us up later (Sleepyhead, Tak Tak and I...).

Colossus would have been kicked looooong ago for pratting around in any normal versus. That and you kept attacking me when I was trying to explain the common areas where special infected like to hide/trap.
I was in a server full of new/inexperienced players and with a small bit of guidance from me, our team properly took out the other team on the roof of the No Mercy finale. It was desperately fustrating at times though; getting attacked early on and they all ran back to hide in the safe room. That and thinking a hunter can take on 4 survivors...
BTW is the maximum pounce damage for the hunter 25 points?
sorry, I was giving a demonstration lol! the AI kept attacking me aswell. He faffs in the safe room for bloody ages I don't know what he is doing in there? He also can't seem to work out where we've gone, he needs to pay more attention to his surroundings and the outlines of the survivors the game displays so you can keep track of each other.
Versus is fun but I've had the same problems, I'm not a very experienced versus player but I know you have to be sneaky and work as a team because none of the special infected are very tough (except the tank). I've not played as a zombie on your team yet sleepy, I think we would probably do quite well.

Love the game, just too bad I get the "internal driver error present" message box a lot, especially during VS, and the lag is really annoying.
Other than that, I wish there'd be more new maps out there, it tends to get dull playing the same maps all the time
Last night's game was brilliant - not due to the super skill some players showed but how each map had MASSIVE team tactical failures resulting in some hilarious situations ie NM3 and e-LAN-go's team not getting to the lift and my team, zadock going afk meaning I was isolated and e-LAN-go got me good or the finale where my team as survivors got it all wrong...up the ladder, down the ladder...who is going where? lol.
It was nice to play with people who are just out for a good laugh and aren't stroppy, I'm just annoyed that my PC decided to pick last night as a good time to bring back that sodding nvidia driver issue... that is the reason for the AFK... looping sound and back to desktop every few minutes. I'm going to try and sort it out later.

Anybody have some help or tips for me regarding servers?
I've played 4 games so far via matchmaking...two games lasted 2 episodes of the first chapter then disconnected me..2 more started on the rooftops and disconnected me..and i've made numerous attempts to find servers via the console. None show up.
Any help would be appreciated..cheers, Roo
roorooroo - what's your Steam ID name? I've not had many issues lately whereby the server drops me.
Also, on random match making I am noticing a massive trend for servers to be running Death Toll and Dead Air as proper versus (with 8 players). Still has lots of missing textures when you are playing as infected.
I hate the matchmaking in L4D you always get paired with people from other countries and people with shockingly poor connections or PC's
Also the game gets quite power demanding especially in the last section of each campaign people who are used to setting all the options to max in source games will experience terrible LAG that ripples through the whole server when playing...

I love L4D, alot of the guys here play it till the early hours, (me included) but the lobby system is shocking and really needs to be looked at,
I hate the fact you cant just select a server and go on it like you can in CS etc,
I know it's not difficult, but a person who doesnt really know how to use console wouldn't have a clue
Game 9.5/10
Lobby system 2/10
Odd, I've found L4D to be one of the least resource-hungry games around at the moment.
Even with my main rig out of action and falling back on my spare PC, I am still able to run at 2560x1600 - which i never expected at all from a new game. No lag (apart from internet lag on some servers)

might be a networking thing...
of course I can run L4D LOL just at the end of each campaign u get some kind of lag of which u cant track since theres no ping menu in game or anything like that...
might just be the fact that I always get paired up with some 3rd World gamers lol

You can see your ping when you hit "Tab" - part of an update a few weeks back.
The lobby is ok if you select "Best Dedicated Server" rather than "Official Dedicated server" - the latter tends to give you servers in some weird place where everyone has a ping of 400+ms. lol.
Hi sleepyhead..here's the link to my profile if you'd like to add me: or anyone else who likes to play for a laugh and fun

I managed to display the list of servers available by choosing the custom tab..more choice that way..
