    Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2

Received it last night and jumped straight into MP. Was a bit confusing at first, didn't know where I was, what I was doing, and where to go, but my first shot got me a nice kill (headshot with a sniper), but it went downhill fast from there.

I'm guessing that there's "power ups" in this game as well that ruin online play for new players? I ask because, about 90% of my shots that landed where in the chest/head area and yet only 1 of them got a kill. The rest, even from close up, just did a bit of damage somehow. Oh well...

I did like the engineer role though, a reasonable main weapon and an RPG, I dunno how to repair stuff yet though.

My main problem though, I played for about 3-4 hours last night and didn't even get to rank 2, and I'm playing against people with rank 40 plus. I have a feeling I'm not gonna get very far with this if the ranks make too much of a difference, it just won't be worth my time.

    Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2

Heh, I found a calculator, and judging on my few games last night (about 4 games, less than 6800 exp earned in about 3 hours), it appears it will take me 20 years to reach level 50, playing 1 night a week.

    Sod that.

Anyone wanna buy Bad Company 2? Hardly used.

You can pick up the weapons of the dead. Handy to get their power-ups. You can also aquad up and try and stay with a higher ranked player. Or, get mines and strew them around the place on any map with vehicles. You'll die a lot, but that just re-fills your mines and off you go again.
I found the same problem with MW2 and MoH. By thetime I got there, I was runnning around with crap weapons and getting shot to ribbons.

Repair is a #4 I think on the KB. Just run up to the damged tank and hold down fire.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

lol it might jsut take that long. Good thing is that you don't need to get to lvl50 to unlock every thing. You can get all by lvl20 which isnt too hard to do really and less if you are only interested in a particular class.

Try playing medic first allen, once you unlock the medpack you can easily score thousands of points a round just by healing the squad your in. Plus you get points for every revive..

    Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2

OK, will give the Medic a go.

Question, stats, on the EA website when I log in it's not showing any stats for me at all, but when searching for this I found lots of sites that host stats etc so decided to see if I was there, and I was. So does the EA site only shows stats for EA servers? According to the stats I was actually only playing for 1h 38m, but I didn't play on an EA server.

Any other tips would be helpful.

    Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2

pretty much what neon and jasp said to level up fast be the medic and throw out medpacks and revive injured players. Likewise for assault throw out ammo packs aswell.

BC2 maps are bigger than most other mainstream shooters so dont get bogged down about getting lost.

Use cover and pop from building to building, avoid running through open areas for too long.

Yeah medic is my favorite class, you can do some serious damage with the M60 or the G36C (probably my favorite gun since you don't need the red dot sight, it's default crosshair is great)... get the magnum ammo upgrade that increases dmg, aim for the head... I practically snipe people with it while reviving/healing teammates, usually get 1st place by a long shot... But if you're up against a good team of players and your team is not on par then there's not much you can do, this game relies heavily on team work... Just make sure it's safe before running to revive someone...

Sprint to the person, press crouch quickly, revive with defibrillator, sprint back to cover, keep a med pack down at all times... press Q to spot enemies before firing unless you're certain to get a kill without being killed (when Q would only waste the chance)... stick with your teammates, run away from mortar fire quick!

    Boom easy mode

I haven't yet tried the medic, keep being drawn to recon and engineers, but still getting owned hard left right and centre. Sometimes have some nice games, just had a 5 kill streak on one, but it soon ended.

So you use Q to "spot" enemies, eh? Is that what makes them appear on the HUD with orange things over them? Wondered what that was...

yes that is what makes the hud show them

You can rebind it of course, but I prefer using Q

I don't like sniper in this game, too many people play it usually and they're bad, you don't get in the action as much... Sometimes I do just for fun but it gets boring fast if you camp... You can run up close range with it but then you're better off playing any of the other classes

Engineer is also a very high scoring class alongside medic.

Just get in a tank and repair it a lot

Use your rocket launcher in the rear of tanks, it does more dmg, and also use it against players, it's very effective and a lot of fun to blow them up when they're hiding behind a wall or inside a building

Yup, Medic is the way to go to score massive points. I only found this out when I was around lvl 20 or so. Leveling up hasn't been too bad. However, once you're on 27-28 it is a long haul to level up. I'm on lvl 33 so far. I only started playing a few months back.

If you want to add me for some games, I'm usually on (most) evenings.
