I've tried the find a friend, and it never returns any lists at all. Blank.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
How do you find "newbie friendly" servers then? I tried searching the server names for "newbie" and "noob" but only a few came up and the one I played on had a rank limit of 35, which is hardly a "newb"... In other words it was full of new players like me and vets with rank 25+ wiping the floor with us.
Also, on some of the desert maps, when using scoped weapons, I can't see jack. Is this a "feature"? It's almost like there's a very bright white glare meaning that I can't see anything, either that or sand blowing along. It's quite annoying.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Its a feature lol, meant to simulate real life Sand clouds and glare from the sun etc making it harder to snipe!
As for noob servers, you just have to keep trying. Although I do admit that quite a few have highly ranked people on them. It can be frustrating But like I said its worth it!

The newb friendly servers are hard to find because the players come and go, disconnecting frequently, so you always have new people... There aren't always admins on to boot good players...
Some servers are called "NOOBS ONLY" for example, but I've played there (I'm not so much a newb) and there have been some amazing players in there...
You shouldn't hold yourself back though, play with good players and you'll get better. Play as Medic for real because you'll get the most action that way, you'll feel like you're really supporting your team (and you are) but make sure not to defribrilate someone when you're Offensive on Rush who is in the middle of action and will just die again, or you lose points on Rush maps.
Play, have fun, try your best, unlock things,
Yeah, I noticed that about the so called "noob" servers, they seem to attract high ranking players wanting some easy kills.
Was playing through single player last night, it's so bad compared to online... The story isn't great, the lines they come up with, ugh, made me cringe they were so bad ("I'm going home", "HOME? If we don't stop this nasty bomb thing there won't be a home!" etc).
Also, I know most single player FPS games are like this, but it does frustrate me, why oh why oh why can your squad members never kill anyone, never die, and why does the opposition ALWAYS shoot at you. In BC2, it just seems that it's much more annoying that other FPS games I've played. Someone in your squad shouts "SNIPER!" next thing you know, you're dead, because even though they've been standing out in the open for 5 minutes, the sniper had his sights permanently fixed on me despite me being in cover and the second I move out, ping, a round hits me or the ground nearby me.
I don't get why they bother making single player FPS games with squads, they do nothing, get in your way, don't get shot at, don't die, don't kill anything... bah, stupid games.
Online it's fantastic though and am loving it. Got more Medic points and than all other put together, and am doing reasonably well in Recon and Engineer as well. Not bothered with Assault, the play style doesn't suit me at all.
Homing missiles in Engineers = loadsa laffs

I love using the tracer darts and have become pretty handy with them but its useless if the vehicle has the anti tracer dart perk.
Also don't dismiss the assault class totally, it does have its uses. Countless times I find that as attackers you can sometimes get pushed back, to the extent where it starts to become a base raping joke. It becomes especially frustrating when you have a weak team.
Not to worry, pull out the smoke grenade from cover to cover and rush. I did this the other day and took out half the other team just with smoke.
I wasn't dismissing the class, just stating that I'm useless at playing it, so therefore won't put much time into it. I prefer to support, either bu healing squad members (Medic), repairing vehicles and taking out other vehicles (Engineer) or defending/attacking from a distance, trying to help out squad members from the hilltops (Recon). Those three really appeal to me, Assault doesn't at all, I don't have the reflexes for 1-to-1 fights and will mostly lose, too frustrating.
I'm useless at all the classes except maybe Medic..i just hover around ducking and diving..healing and resuscitating racking up the points..hardly ever kill any baddies though.
Really want to pick this up especially for the Vietnam addon, but Black Ops has got me wrapped around it's finger :/
