I don't understand a number of the perks - the explanations tell you nothing!

I love this game, despite it being deeply flawed, but it drives me mad. I am crap at it, and seem to have become more crap since the last patch. Things that were supposed to get better are worse. For example, I frequently die at the same time as the guys I kill - happens much more often than before. With a shotgun - point blank to the face of a sniper - nothing, except a spray of blood. He then stabs me. However, Shotgun on a bad guy half a mile away, I kill him with one shot (headshot)! Insane.

Despite it's flaws, and my crap k/d, I find the game totally immersive; good visuals, amazing sound scape (on my 5.1 surround system), great destructable scenery.

BTW, does anybody know of any resources that actually explain what the all the perks do, and how they work?

There's an anti-tracer perk ? Which one is that ?

I think that would be the smoke launcher on most vehicles.

Just picked this up tonight, hoping to play it alongside BlackOps as my games of choice, especially interested in the Vietnam addon due out later in the year.

Would love to - however I haven't been able to get the 'Friends' function to work at all. Even my friend and I were on the same server and skyping to each other...

Probably me, I suck.

"Owning" me (I hate that word) is not really a great feat, my FPS skills are totally down the pan. Still have fun though playing the support role, just don't get many kills.

Are there any particular servers you guys go on? I'll add them to my favourites if so, had about 30mins on this last night and didn't have a clue what I was doing but I did manage to kill a few people and enjoyed it, makes a nice change from the faster paced BlackOps.

Also, are a lot of people using voice comms? reason I ask is by the time I get on to play properly the little one is in bed in the next room, so me shouting down a mic is a no-go

Some Russian guy has uploaded a video of him playing Vietnam showing the weapons, menus and so on so I'm guessing soonish is about right.
