To be honest i usually play games for realism or sense of realism. GTA provides a surprisingly realistic sim of city driving/exploring, i mean, very little else comes close.

GT4 provides my car sim needs, Call of Duty goes some way for warshooting etc. Then Ace Combat/Sky Odyssey etc, i could go on

You wont find me playing games like Viewtiful Joe since they are really nothing more than something that you have to 'beat', i just dont have the time to play games to beat them anymore

That reply may have nothing to do with your post but i felt it could add to the thread

I agree, I know MGS3 is rated, highly, and everyone loves it cos its 'metal gear'

Your probably right with the limited dialogue on MGS1, make it quicker into the action, but in MGS3 I just couldnt get into it no matter how hard I tried, so I ended up selling it.

Same goes for GT4, great graphics, not bad gameplay, but unless your really into cars it gets boring, or so I thought, I sold it too (To mobdy, hope you like it dude ) Got 20% thru it and jacked it in, I had more fun playing other games, just seems you do the same thing over and over, its just hassel to play.

MGS1, FF7 are must haves from the PS1 and I can see everyone agrees, there are more classics, I just cant think of them

Viewtiful Joe is great, although a little frustrating at times, I picked it up for less than a tenner new!

You should get Kingdom Hearts! Great fun, don't let the Disney factor put you off, hitting things with a giant key is really fun. Halloween Town owns.

I dont even classify the GT series as games anymore, i dont think there is any point in a non- car loving person getting the game.

It is, on the other hand, superb value for money, quality entertainment for anyone remotely interested in cars

Just goes to prove one man's meat is another man's poison as they say. I don't have the time I once had to play games, so I tend to just play what I like and if I don't like it I sell it on for something new. The Final Fantasies never gripped me, although I went furthest in 7 and 10. As with so many things there is no absolute best that everyone will enjoy. However it never harms to try things that people recommend and find out for yourself

WHAT! u guys must suck at it then, i bet you aint even trying turning all the aids off like traction control etc and drifting a beast nismo 270R tuned to around 560BHP round all corners etc, the realism is amazing, and the possiblitys of driving type are endless. the new rallying course alone are brilliant with snow courses too and the way they brought back the old second hand cars option as great, you can get hold of an oldskool trueno/levin or a FC RX7 etc.
The best driving game... course if you fancy arcade style fun the NFSU2 but its very boring and repeatitive... GT is where the true realism and skill lies...

Realism? You are joking of course?

Get a super car, drive down a long straight, hit a wall at say 200mph... now, what happens? That's right! You bounce off, turn around and carry on.

Now, try it in real life...

    Spot the difference?

That is not the point and you know it isn't. They are not allowed to smash up the manufacturers cars... as they are licenced unlike GTA...
Admitidly you cannot keep driving after a 200MPH crash but then like i say they arent allowed to F* up to cars.
And ofcourse i can't afford a 200MPH car yet... well maybe a tuned R32GTR real life

The point is to keep it on the road

It takes the fun parts of the realism and leaves out the nasties, we wouldn't want to end up in the hospital from playing a game

Im sure they can, Colin McRae rally always had crash damage on it, why shouldnt GT4? Cos there lazy

Thats why ! They could do it if they wanted and make it really real, but they cant be bothered. Maybe for the PS3

You should check out the development stories that describe what the makers of the GT series do to get this game out. I'm sure its not lack of effort, they simply wouldnt be able to add that aspect of the game and be able to release it on time (which they didnt anyway) which shows just how much work it is.

They said GT5 would have it, but i guess that means they are expanding their development team 10fold to get that mammoth project complete.
