Must-play PS2 games? I missed out on the middle years

I signed up to some online game rental (see below), so i'm trying to fill in the gaps i missed over the years. Seems i skipped on quite a few good games while busy at college etc.

Name some titles i should rent/play before i die , I have all the GTAs, GT, Tekken, AC5, MGS3 already.

Oh also, does anyone know if blockbusters do online game rental? Or know of a place with a bigger library than gamesfrenzy? Their service is fine but i wish they had some of the older games too

If you want to try your PS2 online get SOCOM 2 (not 1) though if you want to be any good at the thing it will take at least 20 hours before you get reasonable at it.

Crossroads/fish hook/desert glory being the fave maps.

I've played Killzone, brothers in arms and Mercenaries, good stuff, i like the action. More titles like these would be good.

I saw the vid review for punisher and i think its a pretty awful concept

Played 1, i like the idea of the game, i'll look into #2 although i probably wont spend much time online on it (Yes, i know its the best part )

Have owned Jak & Daxter 1, good game, i'll grab #3 since i didnt complete #1 and didnt keep track of the story anyhow.

And i've heard good things about Rachet, i'll add that to the rental list.

    Thanks, keep em coming

Devil May Cry - excellent shooter / puzzle combo. Also the sublime Silent Hill 2 - Full of decent scares and a plot that twists and turns throughout, story is really well written and so is the sound. Finally Jak & Daxter 1 & 2 (never played 3 as my PS2 is now bust !) both superb games from start to finish

No, Panzer Dragoon-style 3rd-person shooter. A very good one too.

In terms of PS2-exclusives, I'd say GT4, Rez and Ico.

Other games I'd recommend on any system are Pro Evolution Soccer 4, Soulcalibure II, Burnout 3, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and the SSX games.

PS1 games also work on a PS2, so I suggest getting a PS1 memory card and a copy of Final Fantasy 7. Hot mommy on toast, its a quailty game.

On the PS1 side of things I also recommend Medievil 1 & 2 (1st one is my favourite) and Silent Hill (Find out how it all began with the first title in the series) and not forgetting the origional Metal Gear Solid. Also on a final not the origional Gex game was really good going into all the TV parody's, really addictive
