Actually, they said GT4 would have it, to make it more realistic than GT3, but really, they just improved the graphics slightly

I know the length they go, they record every engine sound and do tests on them all so the handling and speed is just right, I didnt say GT4 was an easy game to make, that would be ridiculous, its just they could have done crashes if they wanted to, they just didnt bother as they knew it wouldnt gain them a lot of money, for the hassel they had to go thru, the game practically sold itself by the time it came out.

They say theyll do it in GT5 to keep you happy, whether they do or not thats a different story

I honestly think it would be near impossibly technically to include damage on the PS2 and keep those GT graphics ahead of everything else , and thats not counting the amount of time it would have taken to model the damage on all vehicles and the damage physics engine

    But yeah, speculation

The graphics on Colin McRae, which have pretty damn good models are nearly on par with GT4, with damage

I think I played colin mcrae and it had pretty god awful graphics and even worse driving physics. I thought it was a joke of a game, couldnt believe i wasted the money renting it.

WRC 4 and Richard Burns Rally have it beat but RBR doesnt look great running

Try colin mcrae 5, youll be amazed

Colin mcrae 1 and 2 which are still only ps1 games still have great games, they maxed the graphics at the time for the console

There colin mcrae 04, the newer ones even better, im not saying there as good as GT4, but there good enough for me, games are about gameplay as well as graphics, and when you smash into a car and your car gets wreaked and its more realistic, thus more fun

I believe it was Colin McRae 5, terrible car grip physics, the tires never looked or felt like they were touching the ground. In fact it feels like you are driving a forklift truck half the time with dodgy rear wheel steering effect.

If you think CMR5 is good, try and rent WRC4 and Richard Burns as soon as you can.

And i hear you about the gameplay > graphics thing, i've been a strong supporter of that for years, but i dont think CMR5 has either of those now. I remember #1 being good on the PS1

Enough of this gameplay nonsence and back on topic, GT4 has no crash feature, hence boring

...and if you are any good at GT4, you wouldn't be doing any damage to the car.....

thats true, but sometimes you get rammed from behind

and its easier to go round to corners to use other cars as bumpers than breaking, one way of cheating, as theres no damage to your car and you save a lot of time, as they break and you dont need to, you just slam into them, it slows you down enough to take the corner and takes them off the road, leaving them a few seconds behind as they crawl off the gravel..

Yeah, thats it though, just those 2 sides of the argument.

But like i've said, its the best driving game, not the best racing game. And I believe that explains "The Real Driving Simulator" phrase

So yeah.....PS2 games, what other racing games out there that are fun? With plenty of cars in the track etc. Realistic preferred but i may be up for some arcade style if the action is superb
