rastamanblues, you missed the part where I mentioned the night was "messy". It's a fact that kebabs are only bought by those so drunk they are barely able to walk

ah I understand, although Ive always found it strange that even If im almost paralatic, I dont crave a kebab, Im usually found trying to get the kebab shops to cook me a bacon cheese burger at 3 in the morning!

I'm going to a metal festival this weekend (Graspop in Belgium) and they have a surprisingly wholesome array of food for the discerning palate, including really, really good kebabs. So good you can eat them sober. I still prefer the bratwurst roll with onions, ketchup, mustard and mayo, though.

Can someone tell me why microwaves have timers that go up to an hour? I mean, who's going to microwave something for that long?

You need to cook something for an hour or more, you really should be using an oven.

I'm sure my mum cooks christmas cakes for well over an hour. I'm pretty sure she uses the microwave for that (on low I hope ).

Good point. Probably does the job of the oven. I assumed most microwaves were like that nowadays though?

microwaves are brilliant for speeding up cooking jacket potatoes, then finish them off in the proper oven to crisp up the skin

The same sort of minced recomposed lamb thingy, but a bit better quality than we get anywhere over here, in a warmed pitta with fresh mint, chilli sauce, fresh chillis and yoghourt.
