Re: Just got my MDA VARIO III (HTC KAISER)

are you sure about that? so i can get the MDA and put a orange sim in it and on the XDA i can put a t mobile sim in it for examples? na that cant be correct unless someone else can confirm that they can put a different sim on there MDA?

if your correct then is there a negetive point to consider on this phone because all i keep hearing is how bloody amazing it is!! the more i read this thread the more it sounds like THIS device is the perfect phone!

Re: Just got my MDA VARIO III (HTC KAISER)

Just took delivery of an Eten Glofiish M800, and that's a nice device also. That said, even with the VGA screen if I were going to carry something that size, I'd still probably take the Kaiser.

Dude just get one, its really really good, streets ahead of any standard mobile phone! Loads of functionality and shed loads of third party apps! Also if your into programming its very easy to knock together a few apps with existing VB knowledge

Re: Just got my MDA VARIO III (HTC KAISER)

Problem I have with it is the size - it's a tad large IMHO. I'm waiting for the right VGA device and hopefully without the current HTC-lack-o-graphics-acceleration.
    Good device though nonetheless!

Re: Just got my MDA VARIO III (HTC KAISER)

Confusingly it looks like I've lied.
The MDA does appear to be Sim locked, but every XDA I've had (the O2) versions up to and including the XDA Orbit 2, are NOT Simlocked.

    My balls up

That said - Bet you I can unlock this phone within 30 mins

UNLOCK FREE HTC TYTN II (Kaiser - P4550- Sfr V1615) [Archive] - GSM-Forum

^ To unlock. I'd do it myself, but don't want to change my radio version

Re: Just got my MDA VARIO III (HTC KAISER)

It's very hard to brick a Kaiser, due to the fact that the programs you'll be using have been used correctly for quite a while now, and are put together VERY well.

The base programs for changing things have been used on all XDAs and are very, very good programs, if you change the radio, and it doesn't work - re change it until it does!

Re: Just got my MDA VARIO III (HTC KAISER)

The radio ROM is like the firmware of the phone, the main OS rom is the software.

Radio ROM will effect GPS, GPRS, Bluetooth, Wifi, and the camera believe it or not.

With the new Radio and main ROMs, the camera on the Kaiser is very usable. The stock ones from t-mobile are useless in this regard.
