His designs, which feature parts of the royal coat of arms, have been picked to feature on the "reverse" of the 1p through to the £1.

They will partner the familiar Queen's head image on the other side.

    Re: New British coinage

we're getting a new set of coins?!

hopefully they'll mess up again and make 1 of them meltable like they did with the 50p's

if you have any pre-1997 50p's you can melt it with a solder iron..

Thus cleverly making it completely valueless?

    Re: New British coinage

I quite like the design. £35,000 an 'acceptable sum?' I designed something Royal Mail/Post Office used for years and years (and may still be using) and all I got was an enevelope with some balloons and badges. Bah.

    Fortunately, I'm not bitter.

    it's fun to do though..

i took the middle out of a £2 coin once and when i put it back in i put it in the wrong way round.. so if you come across this coin it's most likely from me.. she'll have a few pointy chisel marks in her face from me whacking it!

You actually got a similar some to the lad in the first post and a lifetime supply of first class stamps.

They posted it to you though and somewhere, some chap called Poollox is laughing at your misfortune and rubbing his hands with glee at RM's inability to deliver anything to the correct address.

Yeah, I like - I'll probably never notice it, but its nice to know they look quite cool.

Another vote for Pollaxe revealing what he designed for RM!
