Can't remember seeing Peter Stringfellow on there, no.

Anyway, seeing as you can't (for some reason) stop going on about X Factor, I might as well ask - why do you like this show? I mean, its some silly boy band, or some sub-sub-sub-sub-sub Mariah Carey type woman warbling away, while the thicko audience scream like children.

Great for 14 year old girls, great for 55 year old women, but why do you want to watch it?

Well, that's a good point I suppose. I dunno. I suppose I like to see ordinary people get their big chance. I know there's all the hype and the media but in there somewhere is somebody's dream being realised, if only for a short time. The World ain't great; snippets of little nice things can't be bad. It's nice that 14 and 55 year olds can enjoy something together.

    I'm in tears now. Boohoohoo!

For ordinary people read: people with just enough talent to get on ITV.

For big chance read: people who Simon Cowell can say 'omfg u sux0rated the place down' to.

Don't give me the little peeps getting their big chance, these are vain wannabes, who are not interested in anything other than fame for the sake of fame.

I agree some are defo on an ego trip. But Leona, she can sing right? And should Laura have gone out this week?

She might be able to sing... I don't watch.

I don't care if Laura is alive or dead mate, so it's unlikely I have an opinion on her going out. My sisters children are 8 and 10 though, I'll get their opinions and post them if you like.

Wasn't Will Young Pop Idol? Apart from him and Leona all the rest are wash outs.

That Fiat was quite funky. I'm almost sold. Apart from the fact it will probably rust in 2 days if it continues to rain like it has today!

Just watched the episode on iPlayer. Good for Boris Johnson coming on and doing a lap. I thought the rest of the program was quite good. Liked the Fiesta thing, and the commie bits as well. More cars and testing than fooling around.

The Fiesta test was brilliant, especially the shopping centre and RMC

I liked the commie bit, but that's probably because I learnt to drive in a Lada Niva, great little off roader, well it was until I braked for a sharp turn on an A-road and one of the drive shafts carried on without the car, bouncing happily along the road in front of me. Had great heaters too.

In Soviet Russia, car drives you!
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

Next time I'm planning an amphibious, joint ops, beach landing with the possibility of an extended chase (by baddies in a Chevy) through a shopping centre, I shall certainly be putting the new Fiesta towards the top of my list (though I suspect the Focus may be slightly more practical with respect to space).

Re: New Top Gear Series Tonight! (2/11/08)

I drove a Lada Riva once... it was the one before the type they had on lastnight. It had a 1.3 engine and the steering was so heavy my arms hurt the next day. It was heavy and just didn't seem to want to move.

I hated every second of it.

I thought the cup holders being used as grenade holders was particularly funny! I was quite surprised to see the Fiesta still running after going through that much water. I was expecting it to stall at any moment. Mind you, I bet that engine seized soon after being submerged in that much salt water.

Yeah we expect that a green ford fiesta will wash up to shore sometime next February.

Watched it last night whilst at work, and great episode! Also featuring 2 places v.close to where I live, Greenham Common, and Festival Place in Basingstoke.

Was that Westfield Shopping Centre? Was cool to let them do it there. Was quality. I think that ep must have blown some budget!!
