Can I suggest the following:
1 scoop good quality vanilla ice cream
1 RIPE banana, sliced at an angle for prettiness
Scattering of sliced almonds / walnuts (or other nut of your choice)
Drizzled with honey or golder syrup.
Mmmmmm.

My recipe -
Go to asda, get shakey bottle. Add water. Throw into fire pan (not frying pan). Consume with mint-choc chip ice cream or sugar & lemon juice... possibly Jam as an optional extra.
Not snobbish at all!

Well if you want to be snobby about it, English are correct for today.
As is cake and any other food stuff that uses Milk, Butter and Eggs before you fast until Easter.

Another traditional desert to be eaten on shrove tuesday is syllabub

. . . syllabub and pancakes now there's one to try.
Oh and this is what a Canadian friend taught me,
French style crapes (although works with English style) crape, spread it with peanut butter, 2nd crape on top, spread with chocolate spread. Roll up into a tight roll.
Do it while fresh and hot and it's all melty and gooey and yummy.
So all told if you're one to follow the English traditions it's English pancakes and you better fast untill easter
Just got back, probably will get round to making some in an hour of so
