This is a fairly accurate mirror to my thoughts.
The worst drivers in the world drive Micras.*
* Or 10+ year old Vectras/Mondeos. At least the Micras are insured...
They are offering me over 3k for my car but if i want my car back i gotta pay for salvage which is over 660 pounds? plus the excess of £300(which i can claim back of course).
umm the plot thickens
They give you "over £3k", you get it fixed for £2.5k, pay the salvage title of £660, the excess of £300 (which you can reclaim) and, assuming the "over £3k" amount is more than £3,160 you'll not be out of pocket.
Alternatively you can take the "over £3k" and buy a car that wasn't once an insurance write off.

Take the money, it's too risky for that level of cash. You can almost be sure there will be something unexpected that's wrong in addition to the main stuff.

To be fair at the damage on the bumper, what's to say it hasn't twisted the chassis and such like? Albeit a long time ago, a car drove into the back of a parked maestro estate [the awesome ones with the 2 seats that faced backwards in the boot] at around 40mph (they claimed the sun was in their eyes).
The Maestro looked like it has hardly any damage, but the car that went into the back had quite substantial damage. Ended up the Maestro had to be scrapped because its chassis was twisted.
Obviously cars have come a long way since then, and they are made to deform, and absorb bumps, knocks and crashes, so what is to say that the car may not be more damaged that what first appears, to say the tow bar at the back looks like it is poking out a fair bit I'd assume it's done something. And even if you did salvage it, a niggle may turn into a problem that originated from its initial crash

ahh i see. i guess your right, maybe its worth taking the cash and getting another car. the damage doesnt seem too bad at first glance but then again like you said, it could effect me later on!
a lot of hassle this is. all because of some dumb cow that doesn't know how to drive
Someone makes a mistake and now she's a dumb cow who can't drive? Bit harsh, you've never made any mistakes? Get real Josh, its only a car, you wan't injured, you make it out to be a real hassle, wait until you've had a "real" accident, then you'll know what hassle is.

Agreed - it may be a PITA but in the grand scheme of scheme of things is it really that big a deal?
Sort it and get over it, far worse things can happen so thank yourself lucky it wasn't anything major.
Also, at the end of the day, it was a Micra. You can now get yourself a car that doesn't look like a frog crossed with a bum ;-)

don't worry j.o.s.h i agree with you, the dumb cow sympathisers can get tapped from behind
