man im still shocked at this. he was my idol and a legend to me. loved his music and this news saddens me deeply
I have always thought that people let Michael Jackson down more than he let others down, yes he was odd and yes he made some strange decisions but that was mainly due to the fact that he probably had mental problems and people used his frailty and insecurity to their advantage.
I doubt Michael Jackson ever really harmed anyone other than himself and it’s a sad fact that people took him for a ride because they knew they could. The reality is that he was the biggest thing in Music since the Beatles but will be remembered for his nose and the accusations of Child abuse and that to me is a tragedy.
Yes we can all make funny comments about him and his death, he is such an easy target! Even more so now he is dead, but maybe its best we didn't.

It's a shame that so few people really knew the man, if anyone at all. He was always surrounded by mystery and, in my opinion, unnecessarily hounded.
Still, here's hoping that he can finally be remembered for his music.
I grew up listening to a lot of his stuff, and both his singing and dancing had me mesmerised. Thriller was the first album I purchased (on good ol' cassette! ) and I wore it out by rewinding the same songs so many times. Still remember when the Black or White music video premiered, too, my sister and I watched it on The Chart Show and we were singing it for the rest of the day.
Absolutely stunning entertainer, and the world will be a lesser place without him. Thanks for the inspiration Mr Jackson, rest in peace.

i find the thread turning into jokes central extremely distasteful, a man has died for god sake have a bit of decency, has no one you known ever died ?
on a another point, loved his music, i used to drive my mum and dad mad playing the guitar solo on full whack on the "Black or White" track ...
Bad is still one of my best albums ever.

Lets not forget this fella produced some excellent music i for one have a few of his albums from the early days Off the Wall one of my favs always made me do the DAD dance at weddings. It just saddens me that some people find amusement in someones death words escape me.
RIP MJ

A massive talent, gone too soon.
I have not formed a solid opinion on what he did in his personal life; I don't know and I doubt we ever will for sure. Whatever else he was - or wasn't - as an artist and performer I can't think of anyone who has surpassed him in a generation.
As such, I think the legacy of his work will ensure that the memory of him as an epic entertainer will endure.
I am saddened by Michael's death.
I didn't ever buy any of his music, but respected the man for what he achieved and gave to the world.
Like many, I believe that the child abuse allegations were just that, allegations as a money-gaining exercise, it seems the simplest answer, and therefore the most likely, and I figured that his penchant for plastic surgery and childishness were his prerogative.
It is a sad day.
(Thanks Evilmunky)
Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet intakes.
They're spinning his tracks at work today. I was only a fan of his back in the day and before his gradual decent in to gods knows what.
The old stuff was cool, but I'm not a fan. People idolise him waay much, no one else would ever be given this much "benfit of the doubt". Yea he was a great musician, but to me, that isn't enough to vindicate anyone...his character was just too questionable. I wont go in to what, he's gone now, so it's done and dusted.
RIP.
Yeah, and great way to make much needed money instead of busting your ass in a tour when you are sick. It did cross my mind.
Thing is, he looked completely messed up latley.

Not here to argue, that's just merely my opinion on MJ overall, aside from anyone or anything else.
