Yeah they all seem to hibernate during winter!
Yeah they all seem to hibernate during winter!
Oh dear, I should lay off the Hexus.Smack after a night out!
I never complain about cold weather, not since I was 10-11. When I was living on my own (as opposed to sharing with flatmates), my central heating was off all year long. I am happy walking in a T-shirt all year long, skiing in Ts, etc.
If it was up to me, AC compulsory in all flat/houses. And to be honest, I think this is probably why people are complaining. They think it's cold below 20C, yet there is nowhere to hide at 28-30C.
*Off to take a cold shower*
Another reason why I prefer the Cold - most houses now are fitted with central heating. Very few have AC and units you can buy are hard to install, look bad, draw a lot of power and are very expensive. The portable units are a bit better in that respect but you still need to get a hose outside somehow without leaving a big gap like with a window. And they only cool one room...
I really don't like the summer. If it were up to me I'd ban June-August. I don't mind a bit of sun but it has to be breezy with it. Our summers tend to be day after day of muggy, steamy, miserable heat with little sun and no breeze. Oh yes, then it thunders and the process repeats itself.
No, you can keep it frankly. Give me frosts, crisp winter days over this miserable muck. Even though I work in an air conditioned server room it's still way too warm. As I was stumbling in at 1.30 a.m. I noticed the temperature was 20.5 c. That's just not right. Boo! Boo!
Only 20°C?? You LUCKY LUCKY thing!
You should try between 30-35°C that we have in our shop/office/server room, it's not nice to sweat while sitting on a chair working on computers...
Still, hopefully our new portable air con unit will cool it down a little, was a bit better this afternoon after setting it up.

My GPU is falling over, looks like the Eve server has succumbed, and it is NOT FUN delivering the post above 30 degrees
What's that...?
.... cold beer?
That was the ambient temperature outside at home at 1.30 a.m. which just isn't right.. the server room's a heady 27c with full aircon and when it feels nice and cool from walking in outside at that level then you know something's wrong with the damned weather.
I put the thermometer we have at work outside (I can't remember which day) and it was 34c at 5.00 p.m. which is way too hot but that's in a sun trap. How you lot are coping with those sorts of temps indoors I don't know - I think it's illegal to have to suffer those kinds of temperatures and still work, isn't it?
nice cooling wind, blowing around the norfolk country side today
