Even so, my survey of two locations says they were crap in both.
And that's a crap-rating of 100%
Yes, they are, aren't they?City Link are the worst couriers in history
Bunch of ******s
Edit: Lol, since when is what you do with a pancake with 'ers' tagged on the end a cuss word?
the problem is giving 120+ drops to a driver and expecting him to get them all done in his working day.

Got to agree, Citylink are still the worst couriers in history imo, the only ones that enjoy doing the whole "lets spend the time filling out a card, but not bother knocking on the door" trick. They never answer the phone when you call up, and have an annoying habit of playing football with your "citypacks".
Very glad that Scan switched to using DPD instead of Citylink now (think of the south park name for "City Chicken) to get their real name ).
When I was living in Newton Abbot, I had major issues with CityLink, again from their Exeter depot. Seems they've still got some serious issues there.
I ended up calling their head office once, and advising them of the situation (Parcel from scan was ordered on the Friday for delivery the following monday. Missed delivery again and again despite being in the house and waiting etc.). Come the Friday following ordering, I called head office, and one of the ladies said to her colleague with her hand over the phone "It's that bloody Exeter depot again".
Long story short, 10 minutes before I had to leave for a LAN (hence why I ordered PC bits), the manager of the Exeter depot turns up at my door, in his own car, with my parcel, apologised while looking rather sheepish, and disappeared off into the night.
Bloody useless. Though the Gatwick depot don't seem too bad, I've still had ghost deliveries.

My favourite experience with City Link was at work, when I was expecting a delivery, it didn't happen, so I phoned up to ask what was going on (they'd normally been very reliable at work).
The excuse was that no-one was in. IT'S A SCHOOL! Generally, there's always someone in. On hearing that, the lady on the other end of the phone said the driver had taken a photo of the entrance to the school to prove he was there. I asked if there was anything in the photo worth mentioning, to which she replied 'no', so I pointed out that it was sports day, and that throughout the day, there was always someone out on the school field, directly behind the entrance. "Oh".
It arrived the next day. Luckily I wasn't the one signing for it.
I am lucky at the moment, I work for a independent record distributor, so I get all my parcels set to work, and they arrive first thing no matter who they are, they want to deliver here as there are normally 5-10 parcels to "get rid of".

Comes down to the particular driver eventually. But for consistency of good service, Parecel Force/Royal Mail. Can't beat having a regular postie who knows you.

Well I suppose in any large organisation there will (statistically) be some epic failures (although CL seem to have a high proportion, or maybe because they handle such large volumes)
As for the drivers.. I don't know waht their pay is, or the churn rate, but the general rule of "pay peanuts...." may be at work.
I sent a parcel off by Royal Mail last Tuesday, guuranteed delivery within 48 hours, and I got the rep[aired item back this morning - but that 48 hour delivery cost around £14.
