How do they manage to mess up every single delivery I ever have off them? It's untrue. And then, for good measure, they don't pick up the phone.
How you are still in business, City Link, I have no idea. Go jump off a cliff.

They are known as ****tylink by some people!
Amtrak were pretty bad but went off the rails eventually!
Feeling better now snootyjim?
Personally I hate Parcel Farce more, who set me a letter about customs duty to be paid that took 1 month to arrive, they return items after 2 weeks! Fortunately I managed to track it down just before the deadline (2 weeks before the letter arrived).

I seem to live in a golden area for decent couriers. The only delivery I've ever had that went wrong was when I ordered a chair from Viking direct and they left it on my doorstep for 2 days as I wasn't in and I can't recall the courier they use at the time. Credit to the local Citylink guy though, if I know I'm getting a delivery from them I know he'll be at the door at 8.45-9am.
People complain at royal mail blah blah this blah blah that, but they're a million times more competent than the other couriers out there. City Link were supposed to deliver me 4gb corsair xms3 ram before 12pm the other week, by 3pm it still wasnt here and i was pissed. I rang them... "oh, it got left in the depot, they forgot to take it with them". Literally less than 5 minutes later it was here, driver said "please dont punch me" so i smashed him with a brick instead. (ok, obviously i didn't really assault the driver, but i was highly tempted!) Well, i aint paying an extra £8 for next day delivery, luckily i got it back and ended up with free delivery but thats not the point haha.
I've had problems with them before, the whole ghost knocking & note appearing through the door when I was sat in the house waiting for it all day!
you should be able to get the depot number direct. not that anyone will answer now.

What you have to remember though, is that the people who deliver the City Link stuff are working franchises, so the service will vary greatly between locations. The guys here are very good, they know where they're going and they're rarely late (and if they are they apologise properly). Round the in-laws however, they're desperate... they can't find the house, and then try to say the attempted delivery but there was no-one in (scoundrels, they are). The people in the call centre probably have very little information to go on in your case Jim - you can't tell the customer what's going on if you don't know. Best thing to do is find out which company is doing City Link deliveries (even if they're in the green & yellow vans they're probably not working directly for CL) and phone them directly - get some boots in some behinds
