To add insult to injury I now have covid, tested positive yesterday morning. However last week I recieved a letter saying if I did get it due to my vulnerablity I was eligible for antiviral drugs. As the letter suggested I contacted my GP who had never heard of it. Rang 112 instead and they referred me to the national team dealing with this, they rang me back within the hour and after a few questions decided I was a good fit for one of the antivirals called Paxlovid. It was ready to pick up from the hospital pharmacy by 5pm.
Apparently this stuff works best the earlier you have itx hence the speed they moved at. Also the treatment is so new they haven't combined the 2 drugs within it into a single tablet (so you take a tablet of each,) and one of them doesn't have a name yet, just a reference number.
Fingers crossed it does the trick and keeps me out of hospital. Feeling pretty rough at present.

I heard a report on Radio 4 about these anti-virus drugs, seemed very positive, so fingers crossed they do the trick and they work their magic for you.
I'm really sorry to hear that you've got to cope with having covid on top of everything else - I hope the antiviral drugs make you feel better soon.
Aw hell, Chris. It never rains but it pours.
A lesson learned from PeterB about dignity in adversity, so Peter, In Memorium, "Onwards and Upwards".
Sorry to hear that you've got Covid to worry about on top of that, but hopefully the antiviral gets you better as quick as possible.
