There isn't much for me to add to what had already been said but I can only hope you are all coping OK and that you get your Christmas and more.

    Re: Pancreatic cancer and me

As others have said thanks for posting Kate. You're both doing amazing under the awful circumstances. Don't feel the need/pressure to keep us updated but also feel free to vent here if it helps? I'm a dad of two young kids too so really feeling for your two girls so here hoping/praying for a turn around and a good Christmas for you all.

Lots of love at this tough time.

I'm kinda new here so I haven't gotten the chance to familiarize myself with all of you just yet, but it doesn't take that to feel very strongly for you about now. I pray for all of you to find the strength to deal with whatever happens. Life really is short. Stay strong.

    Re: Pancreatic cancer and me

Well the good news is I'm not dead yet. It seemed a bit touch and go over the weekend but I've rallied and I'm now able to do things like speak and focus at the same time, or breathe without it becoming laboured.

Fair to say we're taking it as an early warning that I'm nearing the end. If I'm lucky I may still have weeks but I'm making sure I finish writing letters to those I'm leaving behind. That I hadn't done that yet was my only regret when I though this was it.

Due to the phenomenal support of an individual I've never met on a message board I help run elsewhere my daughter has now raised £2,500 for Pancreatic cancer. To day I'm overwhelmed by the kindness of people of late is an understatement. Thank you all for your kind words, concern and donations.

Well, phew. That was a scare. Good to hear you're feeling a bit better.

Having been through end stage cancer with family and close friends several times, about the only thing I feel confident in predicting is that it's nearly impossible to confidently predict much. Sometimes things happen unexpectedly fast, but equally, it can look like the last stage but turns out to be quite a bit short of that.

All you can do is exactly what you are doing, which is to make the most of each day, do what you can and not worry about what you can't, and concentrate on the priorities which you also clearly are.

We're all thinking of you and the family, Chris, and hoping for at least a good Christmas. Any time you want me, you know how to get me.

    Re: Pancreatic cancer and me

I'm still alive and kicking. Things have improved a lot since my last post and I'm hopeful of a very good final Christmas. Who knows what the new year will bring, but I'll face that if/when I get there.

I hope everyone on here has a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas.
