We don't have Nero in the States, but Starbucks is garbage. Even McDonald's makes better coffee than Starbucks (of course, don't try to tell that to any of the morons in Seattle).
Starbucks
Caffe Nero

Cafe Nero no contest.
Sat in Leeds Cafe Nero second floor by the window in my little leather chair. Felt like a A Mafia Don in those old 1920's places down town. All I need is a caddy with running boards and I'll be sorted.
ps. The coffee tasted nice aswell.
Going to go against the flow here - at the moment my personal favourite is starbucks decaff peppermint latte (shut up) but Nero do have a better choice of flavours.
I really want a coffee now
'Dunkin' Donuts' make better coffee, TBH, and they make nice doughnuts to go with it also. I know for sure Starbucks doesn't accessorize very well.
Starbucks really do make fowl sugary things, I had a white chocolate mocha when I started liking coffee, first time = OK, second time, the sweetest (not as in decent) thing I've had, was fowl. Same experience with a friend in London.
LOL costa dont even use real coffee I have a friend who works there..its a joke. (comes in pre-prepared iirc, whereas nero+starbucks freshly grind it for each coffee) it definitely doesnt taste as nice though regardlessOriginally Posted by Ramedge
I actually prefer sweet (decaff) coffee anyway. The canteen in our place has just started serving freshly ground coffee, but no decaff, so I seriously have to ration myself
Hahaha
what about those who dont drink coffee? lol (hot chocolate i guess!)
but surely its nicer home-made? if you have freshly ground coffee, in a traditional grinder, plus a nice filter...

I've never tried the nero place so I've only had a few starbucks coffee's and generally don't deviate from the caramel mochiatto's that they do. I did have the gingerbread coffee at christmas which was "different".
Next time I'm out & about I'll try Nero and see if they are as good as you lot say
our local Nero in rdg has a much more attractive waitress than the local starbuck's crepuscular coffee creation creature.
but i don't want to make it sound like 5 guys go in get coffee, stair until said coffee is drunk/stone cold. Then leave, without so much as a tip.

Only ever had starbucks and tbh i dont know what i'm ordering.
They'd probably punch me in the face if I asked for tea with milk and two sugars.
Infact, no they wouldn't, they're all puffs that work there. Camp as hell.
Starbucks and their names piss me off,
if you don't know the name of the drink is their code and the size (also in the code) it makes everything well complicated
Oh dear! You obviously didn't read the Auto Express expose where they tested the amount of caffeine in coffees from a variety of outlets and found you'd need to drink several gallons for it to have any significant effect.Originally Posted by Mike Fishcake
