    Question Starbucks Vs. Caffe Nero

There's been a Starbucks built into Sainsburys for some time, however during the holidays a Caffe Nero has been started in the town (a really nice one, good building, layout e.t.c.) where my school is (Tonbridge). There is a certain amount of debate as to which is better.

I rarely go to either, just don't like the idea of spending money!

I'm not saying these are the best you get, their aim is to make consistent tasting coffee rather than the best. However out of these which do you prefer allowing for staff, efficiency and most importantly the coffee/other beverages

No contest, Cafe nero makes nice coffee, Starbucks makes average coffee...

I always get better service in nero, and the coffee is always nice As opposed to starbucks which can vary..they are still ok but not as nice as nero

I'm so glad that Nero is turning out better in your opinions, I so much prefer it to starbucks, it's name, the staff, the food, the coffee, the layout and the blue logo!

I'm going to have to go with Nero. Mainly because the Nero in Tonbridge is in a much better location than the Starbucks in Sainsburys. Its got more comfy seats too! I'm not much a of a coffee drinker though, so have no idea which one makes the better drinks! (and I've not actually been to the Nero there yet, just peered through the window! )

Matt1ed, how much better are the staff in Nero compared to Starbucks? The starbucks staff seem like a real miserable bunch!

I'm judging it by other Neros I've been to and the staff have been great there. I haven't tried this one, may try it on Thurday afternoon. I agree, the starbucks people don't really even smile or anything, they just nod (if you're lucky) and give you a coffee.

Yup, the Nero in Tonbridge is certainly in a better location, and I've only looked through the window aswell, but certainly looks well laid out e.t.c.

The quality of the coffee depends on the barrista making it, so varies enormously.
But unless you're drinking espresso, you won't notice the difference. Once you've destroyed it by mixing with frothy gunk, one skinny latte cappucino whatever is much like another.

Give me a plain coffee from Benjy's anyday.

    Costa pffff
Costa coffee is a joke compared to Nero, but starbucks is nice if you want something sweet and incredibly unhealthy
Also nero loyalty scheme is good, if you're going there every day it adds up.

Starbucks for their Caramel Machiato with an extra shot (or the new toffee nut latte) for a energy boost, and Nero for their Frappe Latte's in the summer....

The only coffee i drink is frappe latte from nero the covent garden one is the best
and i like the edwardian (or whatever) tub chairs.
They make it fresh unlike costa who pour it from a box and starbucks who make it
    incredibily sweet its undrinkable.
