Ebuyer do a Yuraku clone as well I think. Some of the reviews suggest it's a VA panel and some say they got TNs. Could be a lottery I guess but I'd rather take it with Ebuyer than the others.

From what I can tell the DGM screens may be either TN or VA panels but the Yuraku all seem to be VA. I'm still researching this myself so please don't take this as gospel but I'm looking to buy one tomorrow and want to make sure I get a VA panel so unles I find out otherwise I'll be getting a Yuraku panel. If anyone has any more info on this I'd be delighted to hear it
As an aside, the Yuraku are HDCP compliant so a PS3 will work with it via DVI.
I'm after a 24" monitor too, but I'm dubious about the Yuraku, having read so many horror stories about their build quality.
I was obsessing over getting something really good, and having read numerous forum threads I was resigned to waiting for the Rev A01 of the Dell 2408, even though it's far more money than I'd like to spend.
Then we got a batch of cheapo 22" Hanns-G Hi221Ds at work, and they look fine to me! Obviously the panel must be TN at that price, but I can't see what the problem is. No doubt I'd see it with two different monitors side by side, but for the difference in price I don't think it would be worth it. Sure, I do some photo editing, but I'm no professional. I'd like something a little better than the Hanns-G though.
Given that, can anyone recommend the best 24" monitor for someone who doesn't think TN panels are the spawn of satan?
I'm jsut wondering if I would even tell the difference between a TN and a VA panel? My old 19"LCD is I would imagine a TN type panel and tis always looked fine to me?
I see what your saying, but I was looking at a mates Yuraku 24" TN panel a few days ago and to be honest I thought it was stunning. Now if I think that's good I would want to be blown away by a VA one especially as just now the only option is what appears to be TN panels for £200 or guaranteed VA panels from OCUK for £300.
As I do a lot of photography I want to ensure the colours are accurate so I guess the VA panel it is then.
got one of these

so far so good. mine one is VA panel.
How do you know which panel it is?
I am on look out for a 24" hope its fine with my new rig with a Nvidia GTX260 for games and other stuff
I was tempted to pay that bit more for that lovely Dell for around £400 but as just packed in my p/t job I dont want to be silly spending a lot of money if I can
You can pick up the older 2407's for around £325, http://www.mcscom.co.uk/product.php?xProd=5784&xSec=4
Few on ebay and www.itcsales.co.uk as well.
You can also haggle dell over the phone to get them down to that sort of price

There's a combination of buttons on the OSD you press and the code that pops up tells you.
Just google for it

FYI, Tekheads have the Yuraku:

They seem to have a solid rep for customer service.
