tempted to buy one just for the sake of it lol even though i got a i7 board anyway.

The launch day prices seem very good but after the promotion ends they are still asking for over £125 for these motherboards!! That is just a ripoff TBH. What is the point of the Core i5 if the motherboards are so expensive in the first place?? They should be targeting more motherboards in the sub £100 price band(at full RRP) in the first place. Also the DDR3 RAM is not going to be that cheap either as the Core i5 needs the more expensive lower voltage DIMMs.
I just wish there were some half decent reviews of the i5 750 and the i7 860. I cant find anything solid about them on google. Some reviews stating that the 860 is better than the 920 where as others say it is worse.
I would have thought it would have made more sense for companies to let sites release benchmarks for products a week before launch to build up hype etc. Q_Q
One just started here with the Asus P7P55D Deluxe and i5 750.

aka - Sure, we can't release any results due to the NDA... doesn't mean we can't release graphs that don't have any values on them.

I wish there was some substantial pricing info on the i5 and i7 860 prices as well, a good-priced mobo isn't such good value if the CPU is going to cost a bomb. The prices I have seen through web searches seem to be estimated from US prices, which doesn't give much info for the UK (depending on your point of view, the exchange rate is anywhere from 1.5:1 to 1:1)
I am tempted to take a punt on one of these boards though, and if the i5 is not far north of £100 then it would not cost a lot more than a Phenom II 720BE + board setup, that might worry AMD a little.
There's this article on AnandTech which went up some time ago, I am guessing most people on this forum have read it, it sets out that, initially anyway, P55 motherboards aren't going to be cheap.

The discount is appreciated. What would be more appreciated by me anyway, is the release of the Big Bang version of the P55-GD80. I am waiting for this to be released before I do any upgrading.
Going to buy one, simply because of the price - I'll worry about what to do with it later lol.

Do any of the participating partners ship to continental Europe? Cause those prices sure seem tempting!
This is a tempting deal for someone still on socket 478 and agp (yes truly) and planning to jump to i7. Unfortunately I was probably going to get an mATX case, so looks like I'm missing out ...
If I were to get one I think I would put it on the back shelf for a few months until the prices settle down - it appears everything 1156 is going to be comparitively overpriced for a little while*. Maybe there will be some good deals on X58 i7 instead ...
Can't wait until this NDA expires and we get the real performance numbers (and official UK pricing for that matter).
* EDIT: Based on the Hexus article the Lamda Tek prices - £233.21 for the 860 - seems too high for my liking.

Hmm... that means the i5 would be around the £150-200 range, I'm guessing.
On another hand LambdaTek often price stuff above RRP near launch.
