This film seems to be dividing opinion with the critics, with films goers generally giving more positive aggregated scores than the critics.
Overall I'm glad they made it, I'd rather watch this than some run of the mill rom-com, action, or animated 3d "comedy" or whatever else you can go and see every day of the week these days. I didn't think it lived up to it's potential unfortunately, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, I was just hoping it would be even more grand. The film centres around a core set of actors who fill multiple roles through various time periods - the past, the present and the distant future. There's a few time periods in the 20th century where you see the same characters at different stages in their lives. The individual stories are fine, but the over-arching story is confused trying to imply we're all connected (in a kind of karma / re-birth / past life kind of way). It's beautifully shot, well acted, fantastic score and there's some great scenes. But overall it felt a little simplistic and shallow - it should've reached for a greater and less obvious moral in my opinion.
Still I would recommend going to see it, better than most of the drivel on at the cinemas these days.
Edit: Just to add, it reminded me of The Fountain in many ways - with higher production values, and a slightly more mainstream appeal.

Been on a bit of a Tom Hanks marathon. Philidelphia and Forest Gump this weekend. Well worth it
Watched Argo for the first time a couple of nights ago and loved it. Statred watching Geek Charming last night but fell asleep.
ROBOT & FRANK was really goood.
Just caught up with the Hunger Games (okay, but not something I'd rush to watch again) and Skyfall, which is good fun and something I certainly will be watching again

Watched Argo, really enjoyed it. Edge of your seat stuff
Watched Blockheads - Laurel And Hardy 1938. Still hilarious after all these years.
kung fu hustle for me a great send up of most of the martial arts films with a good vs evil theme.
last film at the cinema was a good day to die hard definightly one of the worst films i've seen in recent months saved only by the vehicle chase scene's through moscow
I watched Knocked Up, funniest movie ever, I don't know if it is just me, but it's easy to relate to and I watched it like 3 times in the last 2 weeks and still not bored with it.
Just finished watching the HBO series, GENERATION KILL. Excellent, powerful, true story of 1st Recon Marines spearheading the second US invasion of Iraq. Not gung ho, rah-rah America. 7 episodes.
One can never stop saying Thank You
