Whenever I return from Uni I'm dragged along by my younger sister to see a movie.
This time, it was Oz The Great and Powerful. Highly enjoyable, but then again I am a bit of a Disney fanboy.

Watched Pandorum on sunday and enjoyed it - it doesn't feel quite like a big budget film, but seems like it could become some kind of cult classic, as it didn't do well on release, partially due to poor advertising apparently.

    I quite liked it too.

There's a sequel - see here (youtube) which looks similar...

Just watched Knight and Day, which was entertaining enough to keep me awake and off my phone.... just.

    The Raid

Not a great story line but serious amounts of great combat.

Watched Kill List yesterday, I'm not sure if I liked it or not. I must say I didn't expect the ending.

Re: Your most recently watched movie/film?

    Oblivion - Sci-fi

Tom Cruise might be a scientology goon ball, but he still knows how to make a good film. Oblivion borrow from Battlestar Galactia, Independance Day, 2001, Moon (film) and many other sci-fi franchises. It's very easy to be critical and say this film isn't amazing, a bit predictable. It's not going to be the best sci-fi film you ever saw, and there's some crude gender stereo typing for sure, but for all that I still really enjoyed it. There was never a dull moment, the film constantly had you guessing with just the right about of action and twists along the way - the score and visual effects of a nuclear bomb ravaged earth were particularly of note - viewing at an IMAX would definitely be worth the extra I think.

I'm comfortable enough to say thisa great sci-fi film and would recommend it to all sci-fi fans.

A sci-fi film that is more grandious than your average comic-book super hero movie that's released every year.

Best not to watch the trailer and just go see it.

    7.5/10

I watched Ill Manors at the weekend. It was good, in a Kidulthood kind of way. I see a bright directorial future for Ben Drew...

Watched the old version of Get Carter last night..it's funny 'cos it wasn't as good as i remembered. It wasn't bad but I suppose some things are best left in the memory.

The Hitcher. Not a bad film, utterly predicable in places and far from predictable in others.
