The Maze Runner - Scorch Trials - 6.5/10 Carries on from where the first one left off. Ok-ish, but didn't really care about any of the characters. Quite dark for a Young Adults film...
Watched Predestination last night..enjoyable film overall..thought it was a bit slow to get to the main point of the story but was happy i stuck with it. 7/10
I watched The Adjustment Bureau at the weekend, not what I was expecting, quite thinky for a Matt Damon film. Another film based on a Philip K Dick book/short story... 7/10
It was probably a bit better, it had Eyebrow Acting Kid in it (google exactly that). You probably need to see the first for the 2nd to make sense.
But it's very similar to the Hunger Games, etc, etc...
Edit: My mark for it's probably earlier in this thread...
Watched "Slow West" on Netflix http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3205376/ the other day, bit slow in places but otherwise quite good if you like westerns. 7/10
Deadpool, just now. An old-fashioned love story. With knives, guns, swords, gratuitous violence and at least 1 wedgie. 9.5/10
The voices. 7/10 It was pretty good and was entertaining but the story kinda fell apart a bit near the end
Watched The Martian on Friday night. It was OK. 7.5/10
Saw Deadpool finally last night. 8/10 Liked the way they did the origins of him. would have been nicer to see a bit more of a motivation for the villain though
Watched 'The Hit List' last night...like a 'B' movie, and the acting was terrible. Some of the 'serious' dialogue made me laugh in places. 2/10
How To Train Your Dragon (original) - Really good! The wife was in the mood for something light and that was still on our list. Glad we watched it. Quality film, looking forward to the second one. 8.5/10. Nothing bad to say about it, just lighter fare so it's not going to be a life changing experience. Rating would go up if thinking just about light, family films.
(And yes, late to the party, I know. We just don't watch that many movies these days.)
No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.
Watched Crimson Peak (pre ordered it with it being Del Toro)
The trailers look like it is a House on Haunted Hill / Woman in Black type ghost story. More a very long winded drama, it was interesting but the buildup is to late and so on 6/10
So we watched Pans Labyrinth again (8/10), subtitled only but it is such an amazing movie, captures the immagination with some stunning visual work.
Hellboy on Bluray, haven't watched it in a few year now and got it cheap from Amazon, still worth watching and if you haven't seen it before go check it out 8.5/10
Risky Business, one of Tom Cruise's first ever film roles, this is the one where he goes into the Porsche dealership and the manager asks who the owner of the U Boat is. Aged really well and still worth watching 8/10
Revenge of the Nerds 1 & 2, both absolutely hilarious and you can see where some of the stunts on American Pie originated. I do have a soft spot for these 2 movies and enjoy watching them around about once a year, they get better each time 7.5/10
Porky's, bought this as my wife had never even heard of it and she wanted to watch something kind of like Nerds etc, hilarious right through like the meeting in the office with Miss BallBreaker after the Lassie ands shower room incidents. Can't beat the classics sometimes 7/10
Monster Squad, managed to finally get hold of a Region 2 version of this movie, kind of like The Gonnies but its about a team of Monster Hunters whose town starts getting terrorised by Dracula, Wolfman, The Mummy and Frankensteins Monster. If you have never seen it definitely check it out if you like stuff like Goonies and Super 8 7.5/10
