According to the bloke who installed it the cabinet's just up our road (well, I say just, it's a few hundred metres). But of course there's no way of knowing how directly the copper runs from the cab to our house - we're actually fed from a telegraph pole which is further away from the cab than the house! tbh, knowing that we can't get much more than 40mbps makes it an easy decision when the trial ends - I can just drop back onto the 40mbps package. I'm hoping plusnet are going to make 10mbps upload available on their 40mbps package though - that would be very nice indeed

Anyone else experiencing slow speeds from plusnet broadband? This has been going on for about 3-4 days now. I've changed channels for wireless, rebooted router.

If this continues I may have to reconsider.

I fairness that was at 11.22 this morning when all the local businesses are active, mind, when the kids come home from school the speed dips too.

But I don't pay that much, and it is down an ancient copper cable, 37 years old and counting to my certain knowledge, true age could be just about half a century.

Thinking of going to Virgin, plusnet have no Optical Fibre in the area, Virgin do.

I used to check with some other means but the interface here is really amazing.

Still waiting on Infinity but got ASDL2+ a couple of weeks ago which doubled the speed (upload still crap though)...

You can't complain with those speeds, my homeplugs limit my FTTC connection to 10Mbps and I still find the connection awesome.
