A colleague of mine has just had fibre installed (just outside Paris) and he's getting around 250Mb down, 50Mb up. He's a happy bunny!

I'm continued to be impressed with 3, a while ago seeing what the 4G was like around Reading.

3 are pretty amazing. We have two phones on 3 4G in the house and they consistently beat GiffGaff's 4G service, by a long mile.

That is a very low ping. My 76mb fibre tends to have pretty poor pings, 50ms plus, even though I could get well over 76mbps if available. Interleaving has been turned on of late which doesnt help.

Its gone up a bit, when it was first installed, Speedtest kept telling me it was 1ms.

Its not really a big exchange, I believe Samknows reports it as about 250 residential lines, and when I last checked, they had only upgraded 1, out of 4 or 5, of the street cabinets for fibre.

I'm continued to be impressed with 3...

3 are pretty amazing.

I'm definitely impressed. 4G sim only deal, unlimited mobile data, 4GB of tethering per month, £15. Works flawlessly with my Blackberry Q5. I've run three tests now which are all about the same - 8Mbps down, 18Mbps up - so I guess that's just what I'll get through the local network (I am only a couple of miles from central Manchester, so it's probably a fairly densely populated cell).

Very much looking forward to the summer and listening to TMS I'll probably need a sizeable powerbank to get through a full day's play, but I think that's a worthwhile investment
