Re: Your broadband speed - post here

1.7Km from an exchange alleged to be 20Mbps capable, the reality is that my line is locked to 8M, the router frequently displays a connection of 10Mb+ yet my actual speed has only ever been above 8Mb for a few days after contacting TT about it. That makes it look like local engineers/Openreach are locking the exchange at below the download limit actually available.

Pay for 100mb (well my employer does), get 100mb.

I work from home so a good connection is a necessity.

I haven't been able to post my speed, but it's definitely faster than anyone else's.

I think Virgin are using tachyons or something, cos it's like, totally the fastest thing ever.

Re: Your broadband speed - post here

When I was in the Netherlands the other week (for work), the wifi in the hotel was free and had a 20mbps up DL and UL speed, browsing the interwebs just felt better - that's where we fail, we're all over the DL speed like a rash, but I'd be happy if my current 60mbpsDL/3mbpsUL virgin was more balanced to say 40mbpsDL/20mbpsUL.

Re: Your broadband speed - post here

Considering I'm from Denmark, I don't know if I'm allowed/supposed to post in this thread, which seems mainly focussed on UK broadband speeds, but here goes.

I have a VDSL2 line with 40 Mbps downstream and 10 Mbps upstream. Speeds seem reasonable enough.

Apparently, xDSL vectoring is right around the corner here, so come early next year 100 Mbps *might* be possible for me. Fibre has been rolled out in a lot of places in Denmark, but just not right here where I live.

For now, can I cope? Yes. Would I want more? Always.

I'm from Namibia.. Internet speeds vs. cost is freaking ridiculous compared to other countries around the globe... I pay a quarter of my monthly salary for this. So be happy with the speeds you got. Namibia recently implemented a WACS cable and even before that our internet infrastructure was more than capable of offering us affordable internet at acceptable speeds. Expectations were that costs would be greatly reduced but sadly that was not the case... Damn Greedy government run ISP's

120MB Virgin Media connection. Typically varies between 75-115 down and 10-15 up depending on traffic.
